It really is one of those ones that has a few shades of grey in it. The MRP could let him off the way they have been this year. That is more wishful thinking than anything else.

Grey areas you've got to be kidding me. The umpire made a mistake plain and simple. HE DROPPED THE DUDE ON HIS HEAD. Bye bye Tay Tay three at the very least as he hasn't learnt a thing and the MRP don't like that.

If you watch it closely he doesn't drop him on his head. If the umpire didn't pick it up is shows there are grey areas in the rule! He will be going on another holiday but for how long is the question.

Where were all you bitches when Lord Buddy got reported for a "Sling Tackle" ? No where to be found, but when young Tex gets done you all just slide out from under your rocks to bag him and give him multiple games. From what I'm told, Tex is just another good lad from Broken Hill.
I've asked and continue to ask when is a sling tackle a sling tackle ?

His tackle wasn't a sling tackle. He picked Morris up off of the ground and dumped him on his back. He probably is a "good lad from Broken Hill" but, when he plays football he does silly things.

I believe according to the MRP, this is deemed to be a 'spear' tackle, not a 'sling' tackle.

Similar to what Daniel Motlop did against the Crows in a pre season match a couple years back.

The tackle where a player is held, then lifted and dumped on the head/neck (or close to) is seen as very dangerous by the AFL & even the NRL.

I can remember Peter Burgoyne laying a pretty decent spear tackle on a West Coast player a fair few years back now. It was one of the best looking but also one of the most dangerous spear tackles I've ever seen. I can't remember if Burgoyne got reported for it or how many games he got suspended for doing it.

See attached article, was Burgoyne on Kerr.

Also how about Kerr's comments on the issue to the tribunal. A look back at the good old days before players would dob each other in.

Kerr told the tribunal that his body could have been forcing Burgoyne backwards, as the defence contended, but was unable to say whether he had rolled over or been forced to the ground. "It happened too quickly, I can't remember that," Kerr said.

Yep Burgoyne was forced backwards.

Brett Burton started the "dobbing".

Can't remember the Lyon one. Remember Burton "giving evidence" against Brett Montgomery though.

Was not far from the Walker tackle at the time.
I reckon Walker (& the umpire for that matter) got a bit caught up in the moment.
It was at a crucial stage, near goal, the crowd was hyped & excitement levels were high, the Richmond bloke was a bit cheeky trying break tackles and Taylor just wanted to put him on his arse.
Unfortunately he got it a bit wrong and dumped the Richmond bloke the wrong way up.
You just cant do that anymore.

The umpire seemed to be a bit swept up in the moment too. He payed HTB (which it was .... apart from the dangerous dump at the end of it) and then had to try & stop a fight when the Richmond bloke fired up.

Me & my son agreed on the spot that it would go to the tribunal.

After all the controversy, IMO I reckon the right things happened.
Free kick, goal, Walker got games. Because of his record he got 3 instead of 2. Seems about right.

After seeing McKernan dominate against the bays on Sunday, I reckon he or Jenkins could slot straight in and get some crucial game time before finals.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!
