Shit! I'd end up wearing half of that, wouldn't stack too well.

what are everyones thoughts on players being reported by opposition video cameras, say for example 8 weeks down the track a player get reported for an "alleged" sling tackle that the umpire of the game called play on, i think video evidence for king hits behind the play and other cowardly acts is all well and good but for a tackle, come on

Should have a week to lodge something IMO, sling tackles are hard to detect from an umpire's perspective at times as they are after the play.
One of the hardest facet's of umpiring after playing the game for so long is trying to delay watching the ball, it's instinctive as a player to watch the the next contest or where the ball is going.
As an umpire, you have to delay turning your head to see that nothing goes on after the initial tackle and then get focussed in time to see that's there's no infringement for the next contest.
It makes it harder because sometimes you have to guess where the ball is and then try spotting it, you can easily underestimate how difficult it is to see through players when it's congested, that's why a lot of high tackles etc. get missed.
Having waffled on for a bit, I'm all for video evidence because it's fact, I'd encourage all clubs to record their games to get rid of the he said she said garbage.

of course you were, wouldn't suit your argument oherwise. We lodged it the week after the game. Take it up with the league if you've only just been told. We wouldve prefered it to be heard straight away too.

to suit my argument you reckon, at least the umpire could plead ignorant if he didnt see it and called play on, this means he has seen the "alleged" incident and only thought it waranted a free kick not a 25m penalty or a yellow card or name in the book.

By the way did i ever have a crack at the club about why we are only hearing about it now ( 8 weeks down the track) NO, just looking for a reason why it has just decided to rear its ugly head.

Surely you cant be suspended 8 weeks after the incident?? Lets say it happened in rnd 10 then not heard til rnd 18 and you get 2 games. Couldnt miss finals games when if justified the games should have been rnd 11 and 12

I've heard it all now, this has to be a joke, its not April the 1st is it?
Fair dinkum what the f..k is this League doing, 8 weeks ago a hard tackle was applied & now we have a report. ( WHAT MAKES IT WORSE THE POOR BLOKE REPORTED GOT A WEEK WITHOUT A HEARING )
It wasn't a King Hit behind the play it was a " TACKLE "
It seems if a brittle player gets hurt in a tackle- bump- hip'n shoulder in Amateur League now, it doesn't matter how long it takes you to get some video evidence your going to be hung.
Typical college team, don't like the hard things in a game of footy. Fair dinkum bloody soft if you ask me.
If i was Portland i'd take it up with the SANFL.
