May have to do that, might come in handy anyway, to see if he can show anything at AFL level, given his current rookie contract would be expiring at the end of the season.

Cassisi to miss this week too, hip flexor - 1-2 weeks.

Gray, Harlett, Trengove, Schulz, Cassisi, Boak.

Thats just about our best midfield ( Gray, Hartlett and Boak ) best forward, best defender and captain out the team. Certainly haven't been given any favours by the "footy Gods" with injuries of late.

Be our luck that they will be fit to go when we visit :(

Correct. I'd like to see Brad Ebert rewarded with the captaincy this week. Although going to Geelong with 6 of our best missing doesn't make me feel very confident that he would enjoy the experience.

No way should Chaplin get it, he's been poor this year and if it wasn't for Carlile's woes and Trengove's injury could consider himself lucky to be playing.

Port will go close. We haven't thrashed anyone all year.

Were lucky to get away with the margin they did last night. Could've been much worse.
Primus on his last legs or what?

Was disappointed with how little Primus did to try and curb the influence of Jacobs on Saturday night.

As an ex-ruckman who dominated games, and had rules altered to stop his dominance, surely he could have given Lobbe / Trengove some ideas on how to stop Jacobs.

Trngove should have been belting into Jacobs at every contest, hell, if Carlile is now "fit" throw him in the ruck for 10 minutes and tell him to smash into Jacobs.

Lobbe tried to match him for strength. Bzzzt.
Trengove tried to match him in leap/reach. Bzzzt.

What else did we try?

On his last legs? I dont think so, but I dont know what they are thinking / doing down there sometimes.

Also a lack of 3rd man up, which I think could have broken the contest up and allowed you to at least try and take a ball away from a stoppage
What was evident to me was the lack of spread, both defensively and offensively. This can be attributed to a team with no confidence as you get sucked into contests as you don’t back your team mate to win the ball.
ps to me, Boak looked like a man on his way out…. This was also said by my port supporter mate who I watched the game with. I know he was coming back from injury but he was far from the relentless ball winner he is.

Boak is gone apparently. But not certain he`ll end up at Geelong as melbourne have more bargining power with their higher picks.
