and neither our our 2 first choice ruckman played last week against gullies.

i hear Modbury could have played Hughes last week, but he copped a corky at training!
he might have to start back with the hawks!? norwood ressies are 7-0 and pumping teams! plus they will get a few back!

Gav wanted to come and have a kick but Bass wouldnt let him. They will monitor him back via the magoos and im sure they will make room for him

On the weekend, Uni were far to good.... disciplined/structure and ran hard all day. They have alot of experience across the field and probably the best side we have played.

Have to love Norwood don't you, all saafl clubs produce players for them and they never let them come back when there is a chance like other sanfl clubs.

Could be worse, they could be North Adelaide and tell their players they should go to Broadview rather than their home club

Or Sturt where they try and push players back to Scotch.

Scotch have no affiliation with Sturt anymore as they play in Div 4 these days. I know of one Sturt player not good enough for their sides sent to the RMFL

Thats interesting i know of one Sturt player not selected for the reserves, was told to go and play with Scotch rather than playing in the Hills league.

Big win by districts over uni, they seem to be hitting their straps after a slowish start.

Was a great comeback by Port Districts after being down by just over 6 goals halfway through the 3rd quarter. Uni were completely dominant in the first half. Number 7 for Uni was very very good on Johncock all day.
The turning point for me was when Uni's first ruck (#3) went off (I'm assuming with injury) at the end of the 3rd quarter/beginning of the last. Uni's 2nd ruck, and eventually FF were no match for Beeching who tapped it straight to Gates for the clearance at every centre contest of the last quarter. Tits Peucker played a great second half, providing a target, and making the most of every chance.

The Uni B grade were far too good yesterday, pretty impressive display by them. It was 21 goals to 1 halfway through the last quarter, with Districts B's claiming 6 of the last 7. Uni's B's are probably a 10 goal better side than they were last year, and I'm surprised that Walkerville were able to knock them off a couple of weeks ago.

Portland very unlucky. Two one point losses in a row would be shattering. I heard the ball was down their end for a fair bit of the last 5-10min of the game, but just couldnt force a point.

went down for a look at TTG V Portland on saturday. i have never seen portland play so i thought id go have a look to see how they went about things. portland are a very skillful team. on a number of occasions they speared the ball into their forward lines with no chance of a defender getting their hands on it. it was a lopsided game with the wind pushing towards the club room end it made it difficult to score at the other end. i think portland kicked 7 goals to 2 in the third after coming out a goal down at half time. 4 goals up at 3 qtr time and i seriously thought they were going to run away with it. they dominated the 3rd qtr. TTG couldnt get near it. i didnt think the breeze would be enough to pull back 4 goals. TTG came out firing playing a lot better football than the previous qtr. there was a patch where they kicked 3 long goals from outsiide 50m on the clubroom side in the space of about 3 mins. even when TTG got infront with about 8 mins remaining portland came back with a goal to make me think they would hold on. to TTG credit they worked for another hard fought goal with about 4 mins on the clock. from then on it was a scramble. portland had the ball in their half of the ground for the rest of the qtr. even in their goal square for a minute but still couldnt force a score. in the end the siren went with TTG up by a point. it was a great game to watch.

in my opinion portland should have won this game. if it wasnt for some undisciplined acts in the 2nd qtr which resulted in goals to TTG they wouldnt have been down at half time. i think it was number 7 for portland who gave away 2 free kicks in front of goal in the space of 2 mins. its one thing to be hard at the ball but to clean a player up after he has disposed of it is just stupid. they werent hard dirty hits but if the player has disposed of the ball and you need to take 4 or 5 steps to get to him you shouldnt be trying bump him over.

one last comment... at the end of the game i witnessed portland supporters threatening the umpires and then abusing the TTG players as they came off. firstly the umpires made some terrible decisions both ways but i think portland got the better of them. secondly why be sore losers and abuse the opposition after the game. it was a great game of football to watch so just be happy you were there to see it. maybe instead of abusing other ppl they could have been applauding their own team for a hard effort.

no excuse for that stuff, its not on. as for your thoughts on the game, it is interesting to see what an outsider thinks, you stated that we are a very skilled side which is interesting as i have never heard us called that before. all three goals you talked about in the 3rd quarter were from skill errors leaving our defensive 50.
Griffiths for TTG is an absolute monster of a man would have to be close to 7 foot, number 10 was there best player imo Harding i think the name was and there full forward kicked a bag with no Draper to contend with.
