If true that PD will re-sign, where does this leave Tippett? Me thinks he will be offered substantially less than his current deal which will see him ask to be traded to one of the Qld clubs. Adelaide to get a good draft pick and/or player in return.

GC couldnt afford Tip. They need to secure their young kids on longer more $$ contracts.... Adelaide will be able to work something out im sure, front ended/back ended contracts should give them room to move. The blokes around them will stay for slithly less $$ if finals footy is a regular occurance over the next 5 years

With Sellar out of the picture, there is an abundance of room in the salary cap.

That's probably not true, I just wanted to say the words "With Sellar out of the picture".

Isn't he just a massive dud? Watched some of Carlton V Melbourne yesterday and seriously he is useless. Imagine Neil Craig when he joined up to Melbourne finding out Sellar was on his way there.

IMO Sellar was destined to a career in the Glenelg 2's until Neil Craig landed the Melbourne job......

Back to the topic, still need to land 1 more important signature....

So would "Danger" be on more or = $ to "Tippo"?

Tips last contract was well over market value however forced there via the expansion clubs. I would say it matches Tips rumoured 700k, Tips will prob be the same amount again with one front ended and one back ended.... Sloane's contract wouldnt be a huge one just yet.

Dons wanted Dangerfield

ADELAIDE'S football manager Phil Harper confirmed one of the game's worst kept secrets on Monday, admitting powerhouse Essendon was among the Victorian clubs hunting re-signed gun Patrick Dangerfield.

Dangerfield agreed to a new three-year deal on Monday that would see him remain at the club until the end of the 2015 season.

Reigning premier Geelong was also believed to be in hot pursuit of the rising midfield star.

"I would think it would have been [Geelong and Essendon pursuing Dangerfield], I know that one was definitely Essendon," Harper told AFL.com.au.

Wow, having a look at the Advertiser - and I know, my bad for buying/reading it - the coverage of this momentous event is way over the top.

Yes he's a great player, and I'd love him in my side, but the coverage is absurd and an embarassment.

May need to rename it the Dangertiser.

He is the most exciting player in the state. Deserves as much coverage it is getting.

Yes he is probably the most exciting player in the state but there isn't much competition. With the amount of coverage, one would think he is going to be better than anyone that has ever pulled on a footy boot in the history of the game.

Imagine the hysteria if he actually chose to leave. There could have been a public holiday so all the crow supporters could mourn the departure of the great one. Damn you Dangerfield...

Sounds like some posters are a bit jelly.
I would try and put it in perspective for Port supporters but they don't have a future superstar in their squad.

For Geelong, it's like Selwood of 2010 deciding whether to leave Geelong or not and the coverage it would garner in the Geelong paper would be similar I would expect.

Selwood (2007) and Dangerfield (2008) debuted one year apart, by 2010 Selwood had won the Rising Star, played in 2 flags, been an All-Australian. Dangerfield has done what?

Perhaps Tom Hawkins might have been a better example, someone who had potential but hadn't really done anything yet. In 2010 it was all about Ablett leaving, someone who had actually achieved something

PS. Yes I wish he signed with the cats....

Dangerfield will get his accolades. Barring ridiculous injury from going in harder than Selwood ever could or would.
