I thought it was 2007 also, but it was 2006.

Crowd was 5034.

It helped being a Friday night in town...

It's not dead for the next few years with the AFL backing the concept for a few more years still.

Christ almighty. The numbers don't back your argument up Phil.

Keep looking for excuses though.

My argument's got nothing to do with it...

You are saying it is dead, I am saying it is going to be around for a few more years, still.

The return of State Footy has been driven by the AFL are part of its development program, with 6 leagues involved.

There is a schedule for the next 5-6 years already set.

Now whether the poor crowd in Adelaide or the VFL massacre of Tasmania today changes that remains to be seen. I doubt it.

I thought it was a terrific game of football and was proud of how WA inched their way back into the game because in the first 10 minutes it looked as though they were in for a hiding.
Skills under pressure-wise, I reckon SA were a 7-goal better side but the Black Swan's endeavour and the muddy conditions narrowed the gap.

The grounds are more spacious in Perth and you could tell that when in possession, the WA players were used to having a couple of extra seconds to make a disposal decision.

It was a really well umpired match too with generally no soft free kicks given. One exception (I think it was the WA umpire who erred) was when Kyle Hams got an over-the-shoulder free on the wing in the 3rd term from a tackle that was not high at all. Also, Ruory Kirkby was a tad lucky to be paid that mark in the last 1/4 which led to a crucial goal too.

In my view the best players were:

SA: Boyd, Grocke, Liddle, Schmidt, Parry, Clayton

WA: Johnson, Riggio, Jetta, Dodd, Handley, Hutchings

Also, when did SA switch to the darker blue on their jumpers and shorts?

If no one is watching or has an interest in state football, is it worth persisting with? I don't think so.

I for one would have rather had an SANFL game played today.

I go to the footy every week but had no interest in today's game, even if it was at the Bay. I don't represent everyone but I suspect I've got a few mates ...

A sub 3,000 crowd for a Bays game at home would be a rarity these days, so to not even get that for a state game says something.

Got some credit with the bundle of strife today instead.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Can't speak for the Hams decision but if it was the mark Kirkby took over the ruckman (Johnson??) I thought he was the only bloke to touch the footy and clunk it on the 2nd grab as it fell into his lap.

No-one is watching or has an interest in Foxtel Cup, yet that seems to be persistent....
