Geelong, like all clubs, has spat out players as part of a yearly routine. Every so often the players get one back and supporters carry on like it's a crime.

If you want to follow AFL, accept the fact loyalty in either direction is no longer an emotion - it's a commodity.

No worries Adolf. I follow my chosen sport in the manner you suggested...just to keep the Gestapo off my back.

So when you don't like what you hear, having a private forum may suit you?

But when you want to have a crack at Port or Crows the private forum shits you?

No mate not all. But what is with this way to take it on the chin bollocks? I stated in my first post that I didn't like the way Gazza left and I never will. Not sure why I should suck it up just because you say so. In my view loyalty is only truly dead in football when the fans no longer display loyalty. Your anology about my situation and Gazza's was a false one and here's why. Geelong would have been prepared to offer a lot more (Cotton on deal) than he was getting to keep him at Geelong but obviously we couldn't match Gold Cost's offer. No one in Adelaide was going 'hey REB stick around we'll offer you a pay rise' or I might have stayed in Adelaide. Last time I checked as well Gazza didn't have a wife and two kids, he was...as Ablett's have shown over history...looking out for number one.

'Way to take it on the chin' and your anology is complete bulltish and that's what I have a problem with, not freedom of speech.

I'd rather Scarlett did take it on the chin, not given away the goal and the match and not gotten himself a holiday. DOH. #-o

Early reports in the media today suggest he may get as many as four games for that. I would've said two in this generation of football

Any time you senior players want to pull your head in and lift feel free.

Scarlett: A selfish act cost us the Freo game and earned him a three week holiday
Corey: Finally started hitting targets late in the Richmond game and showed some real intensity. Phew, I was beginning to worry about Smithy.
Enright: Came in really underdone but just starting to hit his straps now
Kelly: Been very disappointed with his skills this season but his endevour has been first rate
Chapman: On the angry pills and not getting to enough contests. Come on Chappy, we've had two senior men rubbed out already this season
Stokes: Finally found some football at last at Cat Park but needs to work harder
Mackie: Workrate up but his disposal has been very ugly ths year. Needs to start hitting targets.
Johnson: The worst of lot with diving, showboating and poor discipline thrown in. Easily the Cat who infuriates me most. A spell might be a good thing at this point.

Doing it well -

Selwood: An absolute monster in the midfield
Bartel: This guy just refuses to lose and accept he is out of the contest
Taylor: A massive effort so far this season with Scarlo out and Lonnergan floundering a little this season
Pods and Hawkins: Killing it in contested marking but had a quiter on against Richmond

Going OK -

Lonnergan: Can and should improve. Needs to step up more when Scarlo is not there
Hunt J: Has done well this season and we missed him against North

We can't complain about the kids. Motlop has been a revelation and it is good to have Bundy Christensen back in the side as he is a real matchwinner as we saw against the Tigers. Duncan has been serviceable and Taylor Hunt looks good as our new run with player but I'm concerned about the coaching of this player at times. West has been OK in the ruck and Stephenson needs to be selected to back up Westy in certain matches. The Luenberger out means the Big O will probably remain in Victoria this week. Brown, Guthrie, Smedts, Horlin Smith and Stringer can all play. I reckon the only piece missing for Geelong in the future is a decent ruck and I believe we should be talking to Jonathan Griffen's agent before Hawthorn or Collingwood does.

Missing -

Varcoe - Round eight. We are really missing his run
Wojo - The most underrated Cat of the modern era. A bit predictable but I'm sure that Tommy and Pods love that.
Vardy - Not good news for Vardy. Might not see him all year.
Menzel - Will be like a recruit when he gets injected back into the side
Simpson - Dawson Simpson, our Grand Final sprint superstar  Has missed a huge opportunity due to his injury this year. He was being groomed to slot in as the number one or two ruck before he went down again. We need some depth in this position becaus Ryan Bathie doesn't look the goods to me.

We've still got the cattle but to me our sluggish start is not down to injuries or the kids, but to the older blokes. If they can fire up again we can still win it. If they can't, we won't simple as that.

The Crows are playing better than we are and will deservedly start favourites but no one has won easily against Geelong since 2010. Jimmy had a half day holiday and Selwood and Lonnegan were rested as well. The Crows do look very sharp under Sanderson though.

quite right no-one has won easily, and perhaps because it has been part of the norm winning, but i see the crows winning by 5 goals but I dont think the cats will look like winning at any stage unfortunately.

I certainly have my fingers crossed that this week we start to click a little better and start getting back into our premiership form.
