that throat 1 given to vickery was laughable wasnt it. he initiated the contact lol.


No!

I haven't seen it but I did have 5 bucks on Vickery for first goal, so I was "happy" with the decision :)

It was about that point in the game where Carlton went across the back-line, side to side, across the half back line, in the opposite direction, back across the centre of the ground just to have Robinson bomb it to a contested marking situation.

Not bagging Carlton or Richmond, for this is the modern AFL game, but it is simply deplorable to watch when teams are forced into that sort of play, I hate it.

Sure the game is faster ( is it really? ) and players fitter and stronger but I truly believe the spectacle has been compromised.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

The greatest spectacles of Aussie rules footy I reckon were the state games in the 1980's, involving SA and Vic, as well as some WA and Vic games as well.

I remember the 1994 SOO game at Footy Park, great game, I reckon the game at the highest level has gone downhill as a spectacle ever since.
