According to Andrew Demetriou on On The Couch, Stynes is gravely ill in hospital, sad to hear it's not looking good for the big fella :(

R.I.P Jimmy.

What a bloody fight, one man who stood up and looked the most wretched of diseases in the eye for more than two years. Shows how merciless the disease is, not even a fighter like Jimmy could beat it.

He was a champion on the field and fair to say, without knowing the bloke, a bloody champion off of it who looked like a great Dad and husband, bled for his club on and off field and championed the causes of the under privileged.

RIP Jimmy Stynes

Postby the joker » Tue Mar 20, 2012 8:46 am

Jimmy lost his battle with cancer at 7:50 this morning. It was known throughout the AFL world that he was really sick in the last two weeks. He was one of the best blokes you could ever meet. Hopefully the current demons put up a fight like he did in round 1 and hopefully win for his beloved Melbourne football club

True legend with a massive legacy
