Great TEAMS win footy games not great individuals!!! I was taught that in under 8's. Not weighing in but it will be interesting to see how they all play together. Maybe not enough room on the ground for all of them. ;)

Would you be happy as a player when you are offered decent money but are not in the A grade side and playing B grade when the point allocation comes into play? Unless you are getting paid to play in b grade (which ive never heard of). Can open promises be broken in this regard? Just a question as i dont know how that would work. I know i would not be too impressed if that was the case (was never good enough to get offered coin, i did it for the love of the club plus all my injuries woudl take the clubs insurance premiums through the roof ;) ). Its all well and good to offer people all this gear, money and not get picked in the ones because of the points system and not due to form etc. Not taking the pi$$, hell it would be a great position to be in. Who wouldnt like to be in that place.

Is that what Portland are resulting to now?

Like a wager on that marbles?

I think we've recruited very well. Going to be a great forward line

Maybe but have to get the ball to them ;)

Would not be too worried about getting the ball down to the great forward line that is going to be there. The midfield and other players across the centre & half back are just as good, and the on ballers excellent.

Well none of the sides will have to worry about Districts in 2013 because if I read between the lines of all your comments, Port Districts will be the 3rd SA side in the AFL for 2013! ;)

I am tipping the nine other clubs in Div 2 will be loving all of this attention and now great expectation being put squarely on Port Districts shoulders. Yardy if you are in anyway attached to Districts, which I gather you are with all of your info and massive one eyed comments, the committee and in particular Coach (Rod) would not be too impressed. Nothing worse than having the 'Great Expectation' not live up to the lofty standards being set on here since early January.... To predict Districts will have a good year is one thing (anyone with any footy nouse will know they will go well with the players that have recruited), but to come on here and pretty much discount the other nine competing teams this early..... that is another thing.....
I look forward to seeing the results in the coming year, cos if they dont live up to their lofty expectations, Rod will probably be looking for another gig in 2013.....

You would think that with Johncock, Millar, Beeching, Catteral, Christman, Lockwood, Maddern, Smitham, Perry, Simon Peucker and a few others that are up and about, and new to the group, that the medal winner and another flag are not far away. Hard to see anyone really beating the boys from Largs, this year. Going to be a super side. Add McDowell, Higgsy, Brad Tosold, Matty Ashley, Natty, Sambo, Deke Smith, Daniel Thomas and others to the new recruits and Rocket Rod will have a great side. No great losses either, except for Ben Gunning with work, to Melbourne and some lower grade players down the road.

Beeching Johncock & Miller seem to be the real big pick ups here Miller will need a defensive matchup each week on a wing and key defenders to Beeching & Johncock but Im not all that impressed by the rest of the names recruited time will tell though i think when things are going well Districts will look good and will be a dangerous side but if another top side does their homework correctly and has had the right preparation coming into the season they might be in for a shock (or just some posters on this site in for some embarrassment, surely the players wouldnt be in on this!)

I'd be pretty confident in saying that the poster's building up Districts would have no affiliation with the club whatsoever. The oldest trick on Sa Footy.

Was told on the weekend that we have around 14 triple headers now

Which player(s) offered money will be playing in the reserves? How do you figure PDFC won't have enough points to play with?

Your boys Cocchiaro, Prior and these types will make it hard work for the Districts forward line I'm sure Yardy Lard. How are you going down at the Dome?

I think alot of coaches would compose themselves very well given the side Districts have $bought$.
How the players compose themselves is another thing especially if things don't go to plan, the pressure will be really on.
I can see it now a few losses, the hyreichy panicking, thinking of how much $$$ they've spent & wondering whether its all going to blow up in their faces  oh how great would that be seriously

No Mercy, at least the coin is being put into the footy department, instead of buying cars for the coach.

I think Jimmy is referring to the Exeter Tigers. I think the original districts guernsey was a black background with white PDFC emblem on the front not back and white hoops.

Any news on how other clubs are travelling apart from Port Districts? Flinders for one haven't done to badly with their recruiting. Jordan Dodman and Hayden Martinello are handy pick ups and will add even more height to assist Ohara in the ruck whilst Sol Fitzgerald and Travis Urn have joined the club aswell from I think Greenacres? and replace a couple of starting on-ballers from last year who have gone over seas. If our forward line clicks we might be able to finish around mid table and surprise a few.
