Do commentators need to give a players history every time they kick a goal?

There were many media stories about Ablett and his Christian conversion. It also features very heavily in his recent photo book, officially sanctioned. You mustn't have read as many Ablett stories as I have over the years.

As for the GF? Not sure what that's got to do with this.
But don't worry, I'm sure there'll be a few Matthew Stokes redemption stories over the years too ;)

ablett pleaded guilty at the tribunal once and claimed he couldn't lie as it was against his religious beliefs which he was applauded for.

That's the only time I can recall him ever going on about his christianity. The media made up
the rest.

Forgive me because I am a bit younger than the rest on here.

Didn't the Ablett issue (drugs and a young girl) happen after his football career finished?

WTF does this thread have to do with Ablett anyway?
Gary Ablett Snr could have wiped his arse with Andrew Krakouer's ability

Yes

Yes Ablett Snr. did have the issues. His career was well and truly over by then. But in saying this the girl who was with Gary choose to do the drugs with Gary.

he got 32 months for that  . Maybe our soft judges here should take note....

But he was a member of the notorious "gang of 49" (40 main squad, 6 rookies, 2 international players & 1 17 yo priority draft pick).

I know it's poor taste, but that post made me thinking of those depression ads on tv at the moment...

"Andrew, how are you feeling now?"

Nice work, glad you know all the ins and outs of this story
Fact of the matter is the club did the right thing by him and hopefully he can stay on track and repay the club.

Just my opinion, thought that he may have had enough.

Nevertheless, what a wonderful fairytale story, down in the dumps again only to haul himself back to the very top of the game. Truly inspiring stuff.
