Ticket Sales Slow for the Power v Crows game

Talk on the national game

Im pretty sure Port dont have a waiting list for season tickets, people desperate to see their games... but each to their own, i dont really care if any crows supporters go personally.

PAP

I am not too concerned if Bode is not playing as this will open the door for Vince

I have been looking forward to Vince getting an opportunity

1. He has been in Fantastic form with WWT
2. He brings added flexibility to the side as he can play up forward or run through the midfield
3. He brings added leg speed to the side, he is a smart player with good skills
4. Up forward, as a small forward he can be hard to match up on, he is very good grab for his size

Once Vince gets his opportunity, he will develop in to a very good AFL footballer

I am looking forward to the potential shoot out of the young guns

Van Berlo, Douglas, Knights and Vince v's Salopek, Krakouer, Surjan and Bentley

Burton will Play

With your choice of interesting words MW........we know who the real feral is dont we!!!...

Hehe, power01, seems the guy (MW) is keen on establishing himself as the most unpopular guy on the site, and is so far succeeding.

Because stating the bleeding obvious that Port Power can't sell out home games, even against the Crows, that makes me the most unpopular guy on site?....you must be a Port Power supporter for sure.

MW you really are a friggin Dickhead.......honestly its clowns like you that put people off our great game....may I suggest you crawl back under the rock that you came from.....

Is that level of abuse necessary Power01??? Your no orphan though, christ people first sign you're losing an argument when you attack the person rather than the issue.

MW's statement is no more idiotic than any other on this site today...

In the same way that Crows "supporters" on the waiting list don't turn up or buy a ticket to an away showdown that they can't normally get - it is a legitamate question to ask that with a supporter base of arguably 35% of the state (~600 000 people - half of those in Adelaide) Port Power can't get their 15% of their supporter base in Adelaide to turn up to their games???
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

ps: tassie you havent read MW post coz if you had you would know I wasnt having an argument (prior to my last post)...it was purely based on the futile crap he post.......and yes it is idiotic to suggest every Power supporter is feral.................may i suggest read the posts properly!!!

Totally correct anyone can express an opinion here, the fact of the matter is most AFL team supporters in SA are soft, if it's on the telly they're not going. Try going to the SANFL for years when a draw from your team feels like a Grand Final win, then keep going, hoping to crack that elusive win thats what it's all about. I doubt there are 10-15,000 combined from both teams who fit into that category, both teams have been spoiled by relatively early success, neither club has known REALLY hard glued to the bottom of the table times .....YET. Most of the time they're (so-called members) used to sitting in the stadium with buggerall opposition supporters, so they're soft as butter :D My ultimate dream Port and the Crows sharing 15th and 16th for five years( would be nice to have Collingwood there as well), and bring a few people back to the real footy.....well i can dream

.

Earlier in the thread you gave us many reasons for why Power and Crows supporters shouldn't go, now you say they are 'soft' for not going?

BTW, I am a Crows supporter, don't include me in your depressing generalisations. I am sorry that whoever you support or supported gave you so many years of pain.

2) F**k the Crows/Port/AFL :D

Mick is 100% correct on one point - thankfully the Power and Crows haven't suffered a wooden spoon result in 27 combined seasons and won't this year. If that makes us "soft" so be it .... Carlton supporters must be as hard as nails I presume?

Meh, if it doesnt sellout I couldnt care.

Its the first Saturday Afternoon Showdown ever. Traditionally, Saturday Afternoon AFL games in this state are the worst timeslot. Even for the Crows. Work, sport etc. Silly fixture really. Not to mention its live on free to air AND fox.

Port has something around 30,000 members/season ticket holders. All of these have tickets to the game. Whos to say with the sales so far that Port supporters HAVE been taking up the slack? I guess we will find out today.

I also generally think that a lot of regular AFL supporters have generally forgotten what its like to go to a match where the crowd is a lot closer to 50-50 than normal. Those that either never followed an SANFL side or completely dropped off them when Crows/Port entered the AFL seem to have mostly forgotten what its like. They have the luxury of sitting in the same seat, around the same people - year after year if they want and its possible to only ever have one or two opposition supporters in your bay. Now all of a sudden there are dozens/hundreds of opposition supporters around your area, who despise your club, some of which will vocally display that hatred and thats how arguments starts. Most people on this site would hear the same every week, soak it in, have a go back, have a laugh, shake hands at the end. It seems a lot of people cant though.

The over hyped crap thats been on 5AA all week was simply ridiculous. The way they were going on you'd think the government will call on help from the USA and bring over 5000 armed troops to patrol the outer in fear of the Crows fans that do decide to go will be beaten, murdered and their children eaten by cannibalistic Port supporters.

One thing we need to be mindful of and Im more guilty at it than most is alienating AFL fans so they wont want to attend SANFL games.
They'll only be told they're soft, bandwagonners, not real footy supporters, don't know real footy if its hits them in the head, etc so many times before they think, well stuff it, Im not going to go to an SANFL game if SANFL fans continuously bag me like that or don't make me feel welcome.
I spend a bit of time in a soccer forum (only forum I can get on work computers) and the amount of crap generalisation and put down of other sports (ie every AFL supporters is a bogan, every Rugby League fan is a meathead, etc) has completely thrown me off every wanting to go to an A League game.
Just a thought.

And power01, please don't go around calling people dickheads if you disagree with them, we don't encourage that here, we're more into discussing issue and having healthy factual based debates. (And it wont help your argument that all Power supporters aren't feral, it'll do the opposite)
Cheers.
