Even after Cousins came back and played for Richmond when clearly he shouldn't have been allowed to, he continued the stimulants before a game and had to take large doses of relaxants afterwards because he was so hyped up.
You think he was alone?

Amphetamines of various types, Cocaine, and more mainstream drugs like Caffeine (and it fashionable replacement in drinks Guarana) are all stimulants, and all addictive.WY RANGER wrote: Your a clown. If you had any idea of the effects drugs have on anyones life let alone that of a professional athlete you wouldn't be trying to claim it has improvements on their stamina, physical health or mental health. If he was a non user it would have been scary to see how better he could have been....

Who's to say there weren't a few Swans taking drugs also that slipped through the cracks? Maybe they only won in '06 because Goodes, Kirk and O'Keefe took speed every week and that cost the Eagles a flag?dedja wrote:The AFL knew Cousins was a drug addict, yet still allowed him to play 'to assist in his recovery' after the Eagles sacked him.
Also during that period, Cousins was supposed to present himself for a drug test by giving a hair sample, but conveniently shaved down his whole body to avoid the test. Again, the AFL did SFA.
So please don't spin the 'never tested positive' crap because any normal human can clearly work out that the AFL didnt seem interested in nabbing him, seemingly because he was a champion player and it was a better spin angle to be concerned for his welfare.
Did they afford the same concern to Laurence Angwin and the like? Of course not.
And finally, why the faark does WADA exist for? to test for illegal performance enhancing and recreational drugs FFS.
I didn't specify what drugs the Eagles players were taking, but we do KNOW that at least 3 WERE taking drugs at the time. If you don't believe there was a link between this and performance then who's a naive little boy then?
