Are the Hawks the real deal?
They have started well yet no one seems to rate them and most people are waiting for them to crash.

Huge final quarter for the Bulls to win 76-74
Scored 34 in 4th after only 42 in first 3

We did a similar thing vs the Lakers as well. Scored more in the 2nd quarter than the second half or something, and missed free throws by the opposition helped us.

Glad to get the win but I wonder if playing back to back had an effect on the Hawks in the last quarter.

If they can get the mental side of their game right then they will do well, even in the Playoff series vs the Bulls last year they had a couple of excellent games (especially Game 1) yet some of their other efforts weren't crash hot. They need to learn that they need to turn up every night, if you don't show up in the NBA you will get beaten more often than not.

They have certainly started well, very close to beating the best two teams in the East back to back away.

Lucky to win today.

Teague choked badly at the end as did Horford. I think we will be more productive once Rip comes back.

I think Joe Johnson and his max contract is what will end up holding Atlanta back.

Even with the big trades the Knicks are still a rabble.

Miami flogged the Pacers even with no D Wade.

Comfortable win for the Bulls in Detroit too.

BRODS Basketball Breakdown

- All Star voting has started just 11 days into the season
- Manu will have hand surgey and be out for at least two months

- Wizards are STILL WINLESS after a 95-103 loss in Orlando with Howard having another 20-20 game
- New Jersey are glad for Washington (keeps them from being the worst side int he NBA)..Williams out injured too (sore knee...wonder if it was a Patty Mills injury ;) ...and NO im not having a shot at Patty)
- Bulls go to 6-1 (equal league best with Miami) with 99-83 win in Detroit (I cant believe that the Pistons have already won twice)
- Miami show the Pacers they still have a way to go to compete in the East, spanking the Pacers 118-83 (and DWade sat). How long until LBJ gets his seasons first Triple Double (33pts, 8 reb, 13 ast)
- NY still cannot play D, as the Bobcats shoot 55% and Boris Diaw (the offensive machine) goes 12/15FG and 3/3 3pts FG for 27 points...and Amare was back
- Twolves lost but Ricky Rubio's star continues to shine (32 min 5/9FG, 2/2 3ptFG, 10 ast, 2 steals)
KLOVE watch: 38 min, 11/21 FG, 2/6 3ptFG, 27pts, 14 reb, 3 blocks
- Dirk scores 20pts in game 1000 as Mavs win 98-89 v Phoenix
- Richard Jefferson continues his great shooting start (I know, usually Jefferson great shooting is an oxymoron) goin 5/5 from downtown in Spurs win over Golden State.
- The Clippers stars SHINE in win over Houston (Griffin 10/15FG, 22pts, 9reb, 3 ast, 2 ste - Paul 9/14FG, 20pts, 10ast)

Sacramento Kings have sacked head coach Paul Westphal this morning. Assistant Keith Smart will coach against Milwaukee today.
