Well done! We have been much maligned by posters and the Media alike yet we won in all 4 Grades on Saturday including reversing last year's unlucky loss to West in the U17's Preliminary Final at Coopers' Stadium.

All coaching staff and players are to be highly praised.

Keep up the good work and let's go again on April 15th against Glenelg. :)

Over half of the 42 players wouldnt be the same.

Agreed sturtpeter, great start for our club.

100% record at the moment. Opposition fans have to eat some humble pie. Up until this game everyone was saying we will go bottom this season. Clowns.

IIRC Woodville were top after Rd 1 1982 after touching up Torrens, we all know were they finished that year....

not saying Sturt will finish bottom per se but just pointing out the fact one win in rd 1 doesn't guarantee that you wont...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves SP, for one swallow does not make a summer.

We got the two points on Saturday and the manner in which we did so was impressive. We were seriously challenged in that third quarter and going into the final change the home side had all the momentum. MAKE NO MISTAKE, this was a game the SFC would have lost twelve months ago, but this group is fit and they believe in one another.

Glenelg on Sunday is VERY winnable. It is being played at home and, last season aside, Glenelg have an ordinary record at Unley.

Sturt must take advantage of this good start and win on Sunday, or else the first up victory will mean very little.

Go Blues.

And I still think you will be bottom. I didn't see anything on the weekend to suggest you have improved much from last year. You cant rely on Chambers kicking 8 out off 11 goals each week, and I think West will be a 4 goal better team when Cupido comes back.

Good result for our club !!!

I cant believe we won the under 19's - a really good result as we have struggled at that age level for as long as I can remember.
It is what it is !!!

SP's offerings, with all due respect to the man for his passion for the DB's, should come with a disclaimer;

*All opinions offered by Sturtpeter are his own and not those of the Sturt Football Club

...or something to that effect.

He's a dedicated Blueboy I'll give him that. Through thick and thin he still posts and for that he should be commended. There is a certain Centrals fan who disappears faster than cold beer at the cricket when things go pear shaped for the Dogs....hmm, I wonder what his names are?

Just a couple of key areas where we have improved I would expect PAFC.

Nobody is suggesting a Sturt flag this year mate, but if you can't see the improvement you are either a really poor judge, or you dont see a lot of Sturt. I am guessing a pretty even portion of both.

See you at Alberton a week Sunday.

Yep, you can see all that from one game where you played the team who won the spoon last year.

At least you didn't lose by 15 goals as was happening at the end of last year.

You may well have improved in those areas, but after round 1 is way too early to be raising your hopes for an improved performance this year. Give it a few weeks, and after your first big loss, to see how you bounce back. Same thing with Carlton this year, win the NAB Cup, win R1, people ger excited. Big loss on the weekend, and we will see this week if they have improved. Will be the same for Essendon and the Power. And will be the same with Sturt. Improvement is more than one or two good games.

I've been getting counselling since last years GF but am now able to bring myself to post again. Its a bit hard posting smart arse comments when you've been done in the GF. Oh yeah, congratulations Eagles. You are the team to beat this year.
