I hear Flinders Park are losing several blokes next year due to them travelling overseas, most of their midfield
I'm number 1, so why try harder!!

Don't be so sure, Birdie has booked himself in for a fake tan and some blonde tips, that can only mean Henley

I was told the exact same thing by an FP player a few days ago. Quite a few blokes actually. From what he said it would be half the side. Dont know the exact numbers but by what he was saying the overseas trips are taking a hold again at FP.

Youre right beactive, Taylor has been asked to do a pre-season with the Tigers, and he's having a crack at it. Hope he goes well. Would like to see him continue to play for Walkies, but its great seeing him have a go at League Footy

bulls forever, things were put in place this year at portland to try and get the club heading in the right direction but the same old crew that run the show there have shot down any chance of that continuing, not going to go into massive detail but there been plenty of blokes try and fail when it comes to the comittee there, think the club would learn after there was a player walk out 4 or 5 years ago,

No great loss. The one with the glass knees has hardly played the last couple years. The bar takings may suffer though!!

Hahahah yeah right. When Tom is up and going he is one of the best forwards on the penisula and Chris is a solid backman.

I actually had to roll my eyes when I read all this  Every year these two brothers are mentioned about moving clubs.
They seem about as reliable as a chocolate teapot! And of you were any good why would you go from a div 3 club (now div 2) to a div 6 club?? Maybe they realised it would get a bit harder as you jump the grades. If they are moving for money than obviously North Haven have not learnt from their mistakes. It was only 3 years ago they were know as ca$h haven, throwing money around that year in a bid for a premiership. They didn't get it and then went from div 4 to div 6 in 2 seasons.
When will clubs learn paying all this money for recruits won't build a stable club for the future!

The moving between clubs is a well known ritual - NO...passage of right if you live on the peninsula

Not many that live over the bridge that havent played for all 3 clubs - Districts, Portland and Haven at some stage

BL, that is fine, I admit I know nothing about the Peninsula and any of the clubs. I ask what is the limit, if you can spend say $80k on players, go for Div 1. There are not a lot of clubs that can generate this without those dreaded pokies, TTG would be one, but not many have 23 junior teams and a very active sports club. If your club can only spend $20k on players and keep the club solvent, then Div 2 - 4 is realistic. The important thing, IMO, is that the club survives, be it Div 2, 3, 4 or 5. I know we all want our club to move upwards and be in the highest grade possible, but it all comes back to money. The longevity of the club must take precedence over all else. I give you no better story than the Modbury saga in the 90's, Div 1 to Div 5 in about 6 years. It has taken them the best part of 10 years to recover from that. Whilst they got a taste of Div 1, their finances dictate that they cannot support a Div 1 team. The other thing about the Modbury Div 1 side was that it was a combination of a lot of Modbury Juniors, when they were very very successful in the early 2000's. My thoughts anyway, good luck Bubba.

If this is the lad who has won some medals of recent years in lower grade and with due respect to him,TTG are baring their teeth......... and their ar$e$ with big dollars to get him.
Not sure he's worth the coin they are offering but I gue$$ in their position, it's any player in a $torm!
$omeone $hould remind the Gullie$, point$ are important $o you need to choo$e wi$ely, e$pecially for a club that tell$ everyone they don't pay! ;)
BTW, the council is looking for their payment!

Hey Seagull, it seems that you are one of a few people concerned with how TTG are travelling going into 2012, and while I feel your interest is Ace, man, your concerns are unfounded.

Yes, TTG have made a concerted effort to attract more talent to the club. After bleeding players for the past few years we are proud of the fact that so many ex-pats are headed back as well as being able to pick up some talented players along the way. In no way have we over-paid. In fact, there have been a number of players that have asked for way too much that we have passed on, and referred to some Div 1 clubs, one of which I am sure you are more than familiar with.

In respect to our loan for the clubrooms, the loan is being serviced very well. Again thanks for your concern. The loan is not with the council so I'm not too sure what your point is there....
Of course we are going to spend money on other things besides our loan, and some of those things are players. Not once have we said we don't pay players. No club that has been in Div 1 can claim that! If you have a home loan do you spend all of your money on a loan? Or do you make sure your loan repayment is made and then spend your additional income on other things? Some of which will greatly improve your home.

We are a passionate and proud club, and for you and others to question our methods, motives or financial situation needs to be responded to. When you sling mud, some of it sticks, and in this case it is totally unwarranted. I'm not going to get into a personal slanging match online, but please feel free to PM me with any of your concerns, and if they're any of your business, I am happy to reply.

Play on.

Although fortunate not to be in Div 6 last season, North Haven finished 4th in Div 5.
North Haven were only known as Cash Haven on here, most or if not all of the figures quoted on here were wildly exaggerated.
The clubs fall from the top of Div 4 to the bottom of Div 5 has absolutely nothing to do with money, it was due to a catastrophic coaching appointment, which cost the club players and made it impossible to recruit. That coach had the same budget as all the others.
Each year North Haven has a budget as does every club, ours would be the smallest of all 3 Peninsula Clubs so im not sure how we are considered big spenders.
Also for your information Tom Lipson was cleared from North Haven to Portland in the first place and their father Andy Lipson is a former A Grade captain and life member at North Haven. He also had a glorious mullet.

We dont have an extended budget either mate so i know exactly where your coming from. Salary cap my A$$. Unless your out at Dizzies where you can get any type of whitegoods or Tv's or golf membership as a sign on . Geez if you were any good you would never have to apply to a golf club or go to radio rentals or harvey norman and get interest free. All i would ever be able to offer a bloke is a drink bottle and a spot on the ground on game day.
