Re: Gaelic Football in South Australia
RESULTS FROM WEEK 1 OF GAELIC 7s
ONKAS 5.14 -29 DEF ST. BRENDANS 1.12 -15
Best Onkas; Gabe "No yellow balls" Phillips, WadeO and Whippedford whilst The Pegga boys were solid for St.Brendans along with i guy whos name i cant exactly remember Todd Dunkfield?
Apart from some indifferent accuracy in front of the sticks this GF rematch had all the skills on display. You will struggle to see a better game of 7s anywhere. Intresting stat for those 7s haters out there, at one point last night during this game there were 8 ALL-AUSTRALASIANS past and present on the field
.
Another stat that stands well for the comp is that at 7.45 at St.Marys last night i saw the most people i have seen at St.Marys for Gaelic Football excluding Hannigan Cup finals for several years. Great for our game
FLINDERS OLD BOYS 5.8 -23 DEF PINK TIGERS 3.0 -9
Best FON ; Christian Nees, The Toe Keogh and charlie whilst Dan was good for the Tigers.
After 7 mins this game was locked at 0-0 and the combatants were taking the p*ss out of themselves as player after player missed shots from 7-20m out. Toddy Elbows was in everything but was 1 from 11 in Scoring shots. Once a score was registered the game settled into a good contest. Well done to the Tigers in there first game. For a rugby based team they showed good control and genuine spirit. They will improve every week and are obviously a tough bunch of lads. You would have to be to wear hot pink shirts and socks

Re: Gaelic Football in South Australia
FLINDERS MINORS 5.7 -22 DEF WEST IRELAND MINORS 1.12 -15
I didnt ref this game so i dont have specifics but from all reports there was talent to burn on show in this game. There was also sensational atmosphere as the entire sideline was populated by parents and friends. This may have been the very first step in what will be a long climb back to SA being the dominant State in Minor Football at the National Titles. I very much look forward to meeting, watching, mentoring and reffing this rich pool of talent.
STEVE IRWINS ALLSTARS 5.12 - 27 def CHRISTIES BEACH 5.6 -21
CRIKEY!!! A win first up for the Steves against another new team. From all reports The Steves Ryan "Yes" Darling was BOG whilst in his first game of Gaelic the immensly talented SAAFL footballer Ryan Richter made the transition look easy and will be one of the players of the comp for The Beach.
NA FIANNA 5.27 -42 def DINGOES 2.5 - 11
Best NAF- George "2 first names" Craig, Cormac "troubled" Waters and Tom "Fingers" Duurland whilst Scotty was great for the Dingoes along with the debut of James "JPLOW" Plowman whose brother was part of the 2003 Championship winning team for the SA Minors.
Another game played in great spirits. Also good to see both these sides with supporters at the game.
Looking forward to next Wednesday. The draw should be on the website soon as it is completed. I will also text all team reps next week just to be sure you know your times.

Re: Gaelic Football in South Australia
GAELIC 7s could not have gone much better in all aspects except one.
Some no good dirty low life son of a b#@%* stole money from the till. There were hundreds of people from both Gaelic and Kenilworth so the piece of #$%* will get away with it this time but as of next week a bar manager will be there as both Steve and i are required to be outside almost always and Zues had playing and ref commitments as did Anto.
Apart from that the night was a huge success and i will have faith in Karma to redress the wrongs of the perpetrator

Re: Gaelic Football in South Australia
Gaelic7s Schedule and ladder up on the website at http://www.gaelicfootballsa.com.au!
Also awesome to see the WI minors and Flinders minors go at it last night, in an extremely fast, scary-ily skillful, and extremely well spirited match. WI had Jamie Conlon playing, as well as the oldest looking 18 year old of ever seen (Jon Floreani) helping out, yet Flinders were too good on the night, and some of their players (whom i assume were playing their first game) were electric. They werent too interested in taking their points, but were very keen on hitting the sack!
