Craig is a bit unlucky. The rest were as expected though.

I hope the Crows pick Will Young up as a rookie. Very unlucky to get injured in the finals this year.

Must be one of the only blokes in AFL history to be named BOG by a television commentator (Matthew Lloyd), and win a prize in doing so (TV), and then be delisted just over a year later without playing another AFL match.

unsurprsing delsitings, thought cook might have been a player at one stage, him and sloane looked about the same level a year or so ago. sloane's kicked on and cook hasnt. sellar just never looked comfortable at AFL level, was a very good athlete as a junior but seemed to get much much slower the more weight he put on.

in contrast im very glad the club has traded the way it did, crouch by all reports would have been a top 5 (at least) selection at next years draft, johnstone could go ok back home, hopefully will be good enough to replace davis and lynch will hopefully replace gunston as the third forward target. im impressed that the club realised that this is a think draft and they werent going to get a player of the calibre of crouch at pick 10 and traded accordingly. smart move getting a big bodied ruckman in jenkins who will play as a back up for jacobs should he get injured. seems like they have tried to cover all holes left by gunston, armstrong, maric.

dont think we will improve markedly next year (and why would you want to seeing that next years draft is supposedly going to be very very good) will see them finish about the same because i dont think we've gained or lost too much.

Not much surpirse in the crows delistings. Seller is on the outer with McKernan and now jenkins in front of him. Also they are set to pick at the Giant basketballer as a project player.
Cook, well what can you say. This bloke was average.

Tought Brodie Martin was pretty lucky to hold his spot, possibly Adelaide gave him some leeway with it being his first season after a knee reco.

This bloke can actually play and would be a handy addition to there midfield, its just under craig, he couldnt find form, probably pretty hard when being told all the time to run side ways, walk backwards and stand on your head at clearances....

Yep, he had a horror year in 2011 and I would like to see him get another chance. There are worse players than Young running around in the AFL.

Would like to see Gavin Urqhuart from North Melbourne get looked at as a possible rookie. Great kick, looked like a good player a few years back.

The Crows are apparently going to be only one of a few clubs to play GWS twice next season...

I heard GWS made some specific requests to have a good draw for their first season. They were desperate to play the Crows three times but the AFL only agreed to 2 matches

When was the last time the Crows beat Port twice in one season?

Yep, everyone carries on about fixtures but the bottom line is no matter who and where you play, you still have to be good enough to win the flag.

We've had a dream draw 2 years in a row actually. Means nothing unless you're good enough to make the most of it.

The reason why everyone carries on about the fixtures is because it can make a difference between fourth and fifth...which is the difference between being a contender and a pretender with the current finals set up.

This the same Jacobs that didnt play the first 4 weeks for the Crows?

John Reid on Hudson in 2007 -

"We're still in negotiations with Ben's management, they are after three years and we're offering two, but we're still negotiating and we haven't given up," Reid said today.

"The Bulldogs have shown an interest, we're aware of that and discussions will continue.

"We've offered him two years, we don't want to lose him, but he'll start next season at 29-year-old and then the following season at 30, so three years is a bit of a stretch."

He played 4 JR!!!!

88 games over 4 years for the Bullies, fair to say Crows got that massively wrong.

And one of the first posts in this thread was bemoaning the loss of John Ried. What a gun.
