Talk on the national game

Postby GWW » Sun Apr 01, 2007 10:15 pm

A fit Tredrea was the key to Port's success (yes i now we only won one flag) a few years ago theres no doubt about that. What we saw of him last year wasn't impressive at all, and there must be some (hopefully small) doubts on how well he'll play this year when he comes back.

I think the main concern is the way Damon White plays when Tredders in the side. Hopefully with White at CHF and Tredders at FF they can create their own chemistry and White can continue on the form of the pre season and round 1.

Where did I say he was a liability?
Psyber hit the nail on the head as to what I was infering.
Tredrea is a very good forward, just as Matt Primus was a very good ruckman, yet the chemistry between Lade & Brogan was superior- I feel the Port forward line functions more evenly sans Tredrea.
I have this view as an independant observer.

Well done to the Power and doesn't it show what a club can do when they pin the ears back and just go for it like Port did in the second half rather than when they play a clinical style of "keepies off".
David Rodan seems to be making every post a winner so far.
Nathan Krakouer showed enough given that I think he'd only played WAFL colts before.
Brett Ebert played one of his better games that I've seen.
Dean Brogan played very well and they really tightened up on Sandilands after he ran riot in the first half.

So are you saying the roos are done next week too?

look at the record...its fair to say the Puffs have no idea how to beat us and Choco will be in a cold sweat all week!

Sorry mate, when I posted the above, I thought the Roos had won    . (What a shocking umpiring decision RE: the 50m. Still Grant should have slotted that one!)

Will be an interesting game this week. Are you going to back the Roos Dutchy?

I thought Port Power were fantastic on the weekend and easily the best performance of the Round. White has arrived and the Port youngsters really looked the goods. Another bonus for the Power was that David Rodan looked right at home in the Teal. What were Richmond thinking in letting him go? As for beating Freo at Putriaco being the hardest road trip though..just remember this: The Cats won there last year by TEN GOALS. Beating West Coast there is the tougher gig but full marks for the Power. They played football that was exciting to watch, unlike the dross that was served up by Melbourne and Hawthorn this weekend in particular.

His disappearance in game after game. And a knee reconstruction. Good luck to him though - that's what second chances are all about.

Fair call, but on what I saw yesterday from the Tigers I felt it to be mystifying.

No doubting his talent (two Under 19 medals), but consistency is a problem.

Agreed. I hold White and Thurstans in the same category, VERY inconsistant. At least White puts in 100% every game.

I've been suggesting to Port that Thurstans is a back man not a forward for some years - I send them the occasional email.
