We see it that way, I agree with you 100%, but the umpires see it differently.

Problem is, if a team gets pumped by 20 goals, it's hard to justify saying that the bloke from the losing side is the best player from the whole match. I think there will be a few games where Ablett will poll better than 1 vote, but at the end of the day if a player gets 30 touches, kicks 2 goals and team wins by 100pts, compared to losing by that much, surely the umpires will view his efforts as more influential towards the end result?
FWIW I hope Ablett polls really well, as far as i'm concerned he has had an amazing season, and with limited players around him has proven how much of a champion he really is..

Ablett > Judd :D

Dal Santo for me, everyone else had a stinker at st kilda.
Cox also a chance, had a quiet finish but was unbelievable up until about round 15-16

If I had my shit together, I'd have my money on Goodes. Bugger all players stealing votes off him, Sydney won about the right amount of games, and besides that I'd just like to see him win. :D

Blue carpet just started on the TV here. Time for my tips. Genuinely think Goodes can win for reasons already stated. Dean Cox is a huge chance but will need to poll well early to have any hope. Definitely won't be surprised if Sam Mitchell ends up with a high number of votes either.

I put some cash on Penders today.

Way I saw it, I reckon the Pies will average 5 votes her game.
That's 110 votes (probably conservative)

Lions share to Penders/Swan.
