Good on him, take the 6 mill, with his knees he might not even see out half his contract. Clubs show no loyalty why should players.
But from what ive seen of him he aint that good, would have over a dozen guys in my sights before i coughed up that much for him but hey good luck to the kid

Interesting to see the Melbourne Board on Big Footy go into melt down. How many people out there would actually knock back this type of money though. Be pretty difficult, once in a lifetime opportunity.

Matty Kreuzer did. Dale Thomas did.

Although I get the point, the list of players who did not knock back the coin is growing...
Gary Ablett and Campbell Brown were two who would have had the imminent success lure at their old clubs...

And that list of honourable guys (Kreuzer, Thomas) aint going to grow much further...

Ablett and Brown both played in premierships, although admittedly so had Thomas, but no doubt he can see multiple premierships coming up in the next 5 years for Collingwood.

I guess its a big decision, and every player is different, taking into account the financial officer from the expansion club, their own financial situation, the success of their current club, the possibility of success coming up in the next few years at their current club, their professional career (I think Brown had a uni degree, perhaps there was more professional opportunities for him up north), and the camaraderie with current club.

Have to admire blokes who stay, but I personally can't blame anyone signing up for an deal that Scully received.

Good move for Tom. Not sure about GWS.

The Giants have bought a hard working model professional with a big tank (no pun intended) who gets to lots of contests but isn't really the match winner type a la Ablett, Thomas or even Kreuzer (to mention names from this thread). A six year contract for a bloke with a pre-existing injury? His new car warranty is void - hope they've got plenty of roadside assistance.

Funny video  .

Good on Scully for taking a better job opportunity. If GWS are silly enough to throw around money like that, he'd be stupid not to take it.
