Gary Ablett and Campbell Brown were two who would have had the imminent success lure at their old clubs...

And that list of honourable guys (Kreuzer, Thomas) aint going to grow much further...

Ablett and Brown both played in premierships, although admittedly so had Thomas, but no doubt he can see multiple premierships coming up in the next 5 years for Collingwood.

I guess its a big decision, and every player is different, taking into account the financial officer from the expansion club, their own financial situation, the success of their current club, the possibility of success coming up in the next few years at their current club, their professional career (I think Brown had a uni degree, perhaps there was more professional opportunities for him up north), and the camaraderie with current club.

Have to admire blokes who stay, but I personally can't blame anyone signing up for an deal that Scully received.

The Giants have bought a hard working model professional with a big tank (no pun intended) who gets to lots of contests but isn't really the match winner type a la Ablett, Thomas or even Kreuzer (to mention names from this thread).
