They will finish 5th. Possibly lost top 4 spot today, West Coast should finish 4th now.
For the great midfield they have their forwards are poo. The ammount of times they had it inside 50 today but only scored 9 goals.

No Jim our delivery and blocking is Crap and has been all year. We've been fortunate we've had a cackload more entries due to our middle than most teams.

Good win today. Did what we needed to do really and achieved what was required - to get us to the 2nd week of the finals.

Few points;

It shows the gap between 5th and 8th.
Those who said Thorton should never play again should hang their head in shame.
Apologies to recruiters and the Norwood footy club. Nick Duigan is well and truly in our best 22. At the start of the season I didn't think he would be.
Thankyou to Geelong for keeping Milburn and offloading Laidler. GOLD.
I apologise to Marc Murphy. Myself and a neighbour were saying at the start of the year if anyone from our midfield was to get recruited by GWS, we wished it was him. WRONG!
The only reason Ratten could've been sacked is if we lost today because we should've won by 10 goals. We are a much better side than them right at this moment and a loss could've spelt trouble for Ratts.

I was rooting* for the Bombers, purely for the underdog factor...

Carlton were simply awesome. Absolute class.

I gotta admit his performance this season has surprised me also .. I thought he would struggle a bit but might throw in the odd good game, but to be as solid as he has been for an entire season is an outstanding return - Reckon he would be pretty popular among the Princes Park faithful.

He reminds me of one of my favourite half back flankers from Carlton - Andy McKay. McKay always used to be hard at it, and always straightened us up. Ditto for Duigan.

LONG way to go. But we've made huge improvements this year so if next week is our last this year so be it. It won't stop me from r00ting them on next week though. GO THE BLUES!

Ditto. I said Yarran wouldn't last two years and that Rich (who Carlton could've picked in front of Yarran) would be a star. Right with one (pretty obviously though), very wrong with the other. Yarran has blossomed big time this season.

I realised there is a reason I'm sitting there with a beer come game time, cos if I was a decent judge of a player, I'd be in a role where I'd be picking player talent! Duigan is just another reason to back up my statement about watching the footy and shutting up!

Carlton Season 2011

Postby Turbo » Mon Sep 12, 2011 12:37 am

Played some great footy today. Very happy with the result seeing as who it was against and by how much.
Now to the west which will be difficult but winnable. Our recent record there is 4 out of the last 5 as wins. A big oval that suits our running unlike our only meeting this year at etihad which is a smaller ground.
Looking forward to it and hopefully Gibbs and kreuzer play.

Who cares. Just knock the hell out of each other and a nice old overtime dog fight with plenty of reports that'd be sweet thanks.
