Talk on the national game

I ended up going to the game after having no intention of going. The wife got a call from one of her friends in the morning saying they had a couple of spare tickets as their son (who the wife used to babysit) was playing his 2nd game for the Dees. So we ended up going and glad I did. Sat in the players area of the members, just under the coaches box and was an awesome atosphere. Was amazing to see the hill and Chappell stands packed and the crowd seemed to me to be quite a bit louder than at Aami too.

Was a good game and credit must go to the Melbourne players who hung around after the game for about 7-8 minutes just to give Broges a guard of honour. Boaks goal at 1/4 time was pretty awesome too!

It seems quite a few non Port people went yesterday and are commenting in this thread.

Can I ask if the reason you went was the novelty factor of a game at Adelaide Oval, or was it the fact you would rather watch footy at Adelaide over AAMI and could see yourself going to more AFL there in the future ?

A little bit of that, but mainly cause of the free tickets.

I went yesterday, because i enjoy watching football at adelaide oval. The hill area was packed, it was a good day out. Good to have a close game as well, i probably would go to a few more as well if they were there permanently. To be honest i reckon it would be a good move for the power, the atmosphere was great.

Too bad for him that he isn't good enough to get a game in the 2nd bottom team in the AFL.

Great day at Adelaide Oval yesterday. I went for the novelty factor, and the simple fact that Adelaide Oval is such an amazing sporting venue. I left asking myself a question "Do i get a Power and Crows membership so i can go every week in 2014?" Was a bloody fantastic day at the oval.

A couple things i learnt from yesterday:
1. The public transport (trams that i used) were fine and copped very well.
2. Clem Hill stand Hill, there were a lot of Power supporters with no idea about a lot of the rules.
3. Brett Ebert played bloody fantastic, he could be a great player at Richmond next year ;)
4. Westhoff really needs to put games like that together 15 times a year, not 2. Too good of a player to play those one off games.
5. How good was the walk to and from the oval after the game?
6. Bloody great day at the oval and i cant wait for it come back.
7. On a side note, the tigers didnt finish 9th this year :D

The Oval functioned very well. The Auskick kids used the indoor cricket centre as a change room, and this worked a treat especially when I went into the ground early and went up to have a look, and rolled the arm over for a few....

The surface was a peach, and the catering in the members was fine.

I left half way through the third, so can't comment about leaving the oval, but from the Souther Carp Park it took me 10 minutes to get home.....
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

there never going to get 30,000 to a game every week there. but atleast they wont have to use as many of those tarps to cover up the seats
