Not saying that.
I do believe he knew long before he was appointed though, football clubs are good at putting spin on things. The media are spot on most of the time and it was reported 3 months before he got the job that he had signed on. Just like when the media said Bock, Ablett, Brown and Rischitelli would go to GC 6 months before it happened, it always leaks out

So all footy clubs are the same as far as putting a positive spin on things, yet Port are the only ones who are "rotten to the core"..

If they pay out Kane in the financial state they are in then they are a complete and utter rabble.

If they were to get rid of him I bet they are hoping like hell GWS are interested.

Kanes value is probably only a 3rd round pick though, in what is believed to be a weak draft.

If he has been playing since he played last week he deserves to be dropped. It may be just a form thing and nothing else.

The thing is to trade him the other club has to take on his existing 2 year contract also, and going on their current lack of any stars I dare say its worth reasonable $$$

If they put him up for trade last year, why would they then turn around and give him a three year contract. That doesnt make sense to me especially if it is for big dollars.

Last time I saw him live at the Showdown, he could barely kick 30 metres.

The Australian today had an article about it and just above the headline it said in large print "Chad Cornes says his brother has been sacked" but then I read the article and nowhere did they quote Chad saying that his brother had been sacked. The quotes they do include of Chads say Kane has a 2 yeat contract with the Power.
WTF Australian?

Has Langdon ever coached in the West Barto or is he just as full of **** as he ever was?

Pretty sure he went straight into the media. Full of it, yes, but don't mind his calling on 6PR.

BTP, I know you pretend to know a lot about footy, but how can your seriously compare Chris Scott with Matthew Primus? One walks into a top 4 list and the other has a bottom 2 list to manage. Can you seriously say that had Chris Scott taken the Power job, that the Power would be sitting anywhere significantly different to where they are now?

A great list can mask a coaches deficiencies, and I'm not for one minute suggesting Chris Scott isn't a good coach, but had the roles been reversed and Primus was coaching the Cats, I'm sure they'd still be around the pointy end of the ladder.

I believe that Port should have looked outside the club to fill the vacant coaching position, as I believe the Crows should do, and not fall into the fairytale of a club legend leading his former team to glory.

interesting comparing the 2 clubs since they played off in the 2007 GF, when most would say both clubs had similar lists, but one has been able to maintain a top 4 spot and one has had a drop never before seen in the AFL. Which club is managed better?

Both had similar lists?

Where did we have an Ablett, Bartel, Ling, Scarlett, Corey, Enright, Ottens, Chapman, Johnson,Selwood, Harley.....

I'll be interested to see who you have from Ports 2007 list that compares to the quality on offer above.Brogan, Lade, Burgoyne (x2),Tredrea, Chad Cornes with Kane Cornes and Cassisi next.

Of those, Peter Burgoyne and Lade were at the end of their careers while Tredrea,Brogan and Chad were heading to the wrong side of 28.

2007 was a fickle year for the AFL. Port won 4 games by under 10 points ( one the QF over the WCE ) to steal 2nd spot on the ladder and other than Collingwood who nearly pinched it from Geelong in the Prelim none of the other finalists where going to cause any damage at all. If we didn't get the soft Prelim ;) and played Collingwood we wouldn't have been in that massacre.

Which club was better managed in 2000-2003? Bloody hell.
