Re: Glenelg v Sturt Match Review
Every game thread turns into a crap fest from opposition supporters about Sturt's finances, yet in the meantime the 'behemoth' at Alberton that told us it was going to take all before it is threatening to suck the entire competition into a black hole.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

We want a better stadium deal!
We want a stadium with a roof on it!
It's not our fault!
The SANFL is taking all our money!

Re: Glenelg v Sturt Match Review
there were 2 incidents that needed capturing on saturday and apparently the abc got neither of them
the first was when cubillo decided to whack neale in the middle of the ground about 50m behind
play
obviously the second one was the kirk/wundke incident
what i find particularly strange with the kirk one is the length of time it took anyone from sturt to
notice that it had happened. from watching the replay numerous times the following happened
sturt were playing a loose man in defence (tambling) with wundke on kirk and mcleay(?) on trembath
when the ball was delivered to trembath about 25m from our goal you could see wundke laying on
the ground about 5m in front of trembath & mcleay.
kirk is about 20m behind the trembath match up and kirk is being matched up on by tambling, so
there had been enough time from the incident for tambling to assess that he needed to go and man
kirk up and for kirk to get a fair distance from wundke and also be in position to lead for the next
ball.
assuming that tambling didn’t see the incident that would probably have taken at least 30 seconds
to happen.
given the position that trembath and mcleay were starting from they would’ve had a good chance of
seeing something too considering wundke was in the hot spot
even after the umpire stopped the game it took a fair while for any players to remonstrate with
kirk so that would suggest no players saw the incident
when the umpire first comes into shot he is looking directly at wundke and the goal umpire
should’ve also been looking in that direction seeing it was straight in front of him. the fact that no
report or even a free kick was paid says no umpires saw anything

Maybe someone could let James Wundke know that after he gets out if hospital. You will probably have to explain the context though as it is unlikely he remembers anything at all about the day. I am sure he will be disappointed to know that his team also finished the day with no bench and lost a close game partly due to the Glenelg players actions.

Yes, it is unfortunately quite possible that no player or umpire saw the actual moment Wundke hit the turf, given the ball was miles away. A stand up fight would draw attention, but a motionless player on the ground doesn't.
Maybe your best hope would be the goal umpire in that situation, but they are normally watching the movement of the ball even if it is down field.

Re: Glenelg v Sturt Match Review
I didnt see the incident personally, but a mate (Sturt supporter) reckons it was a collision when Glenelg bloke changed direction to make a lead.
Weather that was Kirk, I dont know.
We were watching from near the scoreboard. And my mate wasnt too concerned with it being untoward.
What was more dramatic was the lad falling over after the trainers had got him to his feet.
Then a bit of push & shove started. ... Fair enough, gotta fly the flag.
Really surprised that all this crap is flying around about the incident.

It's OK. I'm sure all the Sturt peanuts will come and apologise if nothing is found untoward and it's declared a football collision....

you idiot, so you think it is good for kirk to wack J wundke is it, heard he smacked the other brother last year when he was at North. i find it interesting that koster couldnt take some chanting from the crowd and had to go and cry to weslo to help him.

You have any proof that Kirky "whacked" Wundke or are you speculating like everyone else on here?
