Advertiser posters

All discussions to do with the SANFL

Postby cd » Thu Mar 22, 2007 8:16 am

A huge public thank you to the Advertiser.

For our club to be first of the posters was great.
For our club to have a 2 page colour spread free of charge in our major daily paper is fantastic.
For that to happen 9 times is very much appreciated - it is good free publicity for the SANFL clubs.

These are fun/interest posters of the teams. the traditional photos are also taken and come out as glossy posters available from clubs soon and again printed if your in the GF in the Advertiser.

As a fun/interest poster to take when the team is ready for a training session at the beach seems to be a good idea to me.

Credit were due - well done Tiser.

The Magarey is some feat since The Rat would double up every Saturday.

He'd dominate for St. Mary Mags in the mornings...

Then back up for the Dogs in the arvo...

Do you really think the Footy Budget does a good job? It's thinner than Karen Carpenter's drum stick

Are there any other all colour publications which cover the SANFL?
You get loads of info about the players and clubs - more than you do anywhere else, apart from here?
And guess what - it even gives you the players names and numbers.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

I thought it was a very nice photo of the Eagles yesterday....

But then I wasn't looking at it through the eyes of a Roosters supporter ....

I like the Budget, it doesn't have a lot of content but its a very professional publication for our league, I'd rather keep it as is rather than lose some quality for quantity.

For those I/S or O/S this will give you a clue of what the posters in the Advertiser looks like, here's Norths from today:

(a) No. We only have one daily newspaper as well. A lack of competition is hardly a recipe for a high standard of journalism?
(b) Loads of info about the 3 slappers a player wants to take to a desert island and their all-time favourite schnitzel emporiums. Zounds! Compared to the glut of info found on the (free) footy forums it's laughable. I always enjoy the walk down memory lane section but the rest is mostly fluff.
(c) Which are, more often than not, inaccurate and slow to reflect injuries, omissions and inclusions.

I still buy it every week though

May I congratulate North in this day and age for having the courage to embrace their feminine side and, in this very poignant poster, take a symbolic stand against the pervading homophobia that exists in our community.

Well done North.

Not as symbolic as the poster that had Sturt sinking in a pool in recent years.

I can understand how North and West have both included a sponsor in their poster, does the Henley Beach Jetty sponsor the Eagles or something? :?

Was the Westies photo taken in their social clubs rooms?

Yeah, well Montefoire Hill at Adelaide Oval is a part of North's zone and is also a nice spot for a photo but there's a difference between taking photos for your wedding and looking after sponsors! :?

Perhaps the Eagles are thinking of the people and area that make up their club? I'm sure the sponsors are looked after quite nicely. We did wear a white guernsey in a real game one time you know...

Care to name the players the club has recruited from the Esplanade overlooking the jetty?
I know KG lives there but I don't think he's lining up for you this year!
