EJ Whitten Legends game

Postby Gozu » Wed Jul 06, 2011 2:27 am

Turned out to be a pretty decent game tonight. Akermanis looked really good and the All-Stars won but Garry Lyon said Fitzy's goal on the siren didn't count so the Vics got up. Nick Stevens has blown up a fair bit too. The hype of Carey playing didn't eventuate to much really. Skills wise I thought Akermanis and Micky O were the standouts.

While I enjoy watching this game most years it just reinforces why I haven't watched The Footy Show for about a decade. Can't handle the Channel 9 footy clowns.

I thought it was a good laugh - we loved watching it.

Must have been 'Vics' turn to win! ... lol.

O:)

And Hutchy's goal - that was a fair effort.

All Stars had won the past two so it must have been the Vics turn. Didnt Fitzy celebrate after his goal, anyone would think it was the 2011 grand final.

Piss poor effort to boo a bloke playing in a charity match. I don't care who the player is.

About time somebody tapped Strauchnie on the shoulder and said, "Mate, you might have been funny 10 years ago, but you're well past your used by date".

Isn't that exactly the idea for a legends match?

Somehow, I don't think Aker is going to lose much sleep over it. If Kyle Reimers or Justin Sherman play when they retire, I'd probably sledge them too.

Southern Cross have had many letters and e-mails in the past few weeks about several matters, pretty certain they'll change to an Adelaide feed by this time next year. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Having said that, we were promised all the other digital by mid 2011....now it's going to be October at least.
