What a load of b/s. I disagree with you 100% on this comment. The VFL went broke because there was no cap club out spent their means and needed the SANFL, WAFL and QFL to pay to keep them afloat. If the AFL got rid of the cap it would look like the premier league. Only the clubs with coin will be winning the premierships. It will kill the competition and leave nothing for any other club.

The two richest clubs are currently sitting where in the epl?
The worlds richest club Real Madrid are about to have their third year in a row without silverware.

I dont think it would hurt the afl as much as everyone thinks. Just my opinion

I understand your opinion on this but it will hurt the AFL as clubs like Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton will out spend their means and buy who they can. The VFL/AFL learnt a huge lesson in the 80's on how not to out spend. Man Utd. and Chelski are the two highest paying clubs and the are either winning it or up there at the moment.

I would rather it all out in the open. I have no doubt all clubs rort the cap via third party deals such as judd.
The richest club has just won the flag and they have used tactics such as players being given 100's of signed guernseys which the players can then sell off and not be included in the cap. There are heaps of ways to cheat the cap and the big clubs will always find a way around it. I would just rather everything be open and honest with no clubs trying to hide anything. By eliminating the cap everything is out in the open

As opposed to forcing a priority pick to stay at the club for 4 years no matter what

A priority pick is given for extreme purposes, maybe they can be given a 3-4 year contract at the club. After that yes they are free agents

I disagree. Whilst they weren't much more then cones against the swans, the experience would have been invaluable. Swans also had a bit more pressure against them then they would in a training session. If you were able to watch the last game between suns n GWS, I think it showed that both teams are being set up very well and will be successful. Also a full house (if only 10,000) with plenty of kids watching would also be a positive to come out of the night.

There's a few rumours floating around at the moment that Rhys Palmer from Freo has signed with GWS, involving a multi year contract.

Yeah I had heard that a few Freo players were spoken too, but obviously nothing can be said. I do know Broughton was a wanted player so will be interesting. I think Palmer is going to have a very good year so will be surprised if Freo don't throw alot at him to keep him and if that's the case we sneak some others lol ;)

If he has signed though there's not much Freo will be able to do.

Good to see you are following them rodney, I'm not sure there would be too many other GWS supporters in SA.

Yeah I know what you mean with the signing it's just I heard it may have been just a verbal agreement. Either way positive signs.

Yeah I'm on board and looking forward to 2012, It's good for the AFL to have some new teams.

I know a group of us who are getting on board, one is a players sister, but yes we will be there when ever they come to town.

I heard a rumour that a Saint, who was unlucky not to win a medal last year,
will be lining up for the Gnats in 2013.

Callans Ward from the bulldogs, is a name that is also going around a bit as being linked to the GWS.
Taylor walker is gone and Palmer is apparently pretty much there as well.
As for this article with Goddard heading there in 2013. Wee thats very possible.

Its interesting that Taylor Walker is the candidate considered most likely to go from the Crows, rumour has it that Bernie Vince is also a chance to be at GWS next season. I know they can take one uncontracted player from each club, not sure what happens if they want a second player from a club that is also uncontracted?

They have to trade for said player. With all their draft concessions no club should settle for less than one of those top 10 picks GWS have been gifted.

That would be a bonus for the moo cow if they can get a top 10 pick for Vince, if in fact he was on his way out there. Also I believe sheedy would turn Walker and Vince in to very good footballers.

Not entirely true, he wont be at crows next year but not certain about GWS. He will be going as a last resort. My mail is that Essendon and Carlton have had numerous calls to his agent and both are trying to trade for him. Only if a trade cant be done will he end up at GWS.
