Just as I expected, nothing's changed for South Australian viewers. And no, I can't afford nor want Foxtel.

It has changed. Insteda of being shown an hour and a half on dealy (games starting at 7:10 SA time, and shown at 8:30 - friday night games), the starting time will be (7:20 SA Time and shown at 7:30 on TV, so will start at 7:40 on tv) 20 minute delay. However, i think Saturday afternoon footy may be delayed on FTA by 30 minutes. Thats from what i gather

Great news for Foxtel viewers. Same, if not slightly worse (thanks to Sat arvo being delayed) for those without Fox.

I've always been close to getting rid of Fox - but will definitely be keeping it now.

I never thought Id see the day when all games were live on Fox but other sports like A League, NRL & Rugby Union are all fairly well live now, the AFL would be very happy I imagine only question how will it impact crowd numbers?

About bloody time this happened. Had Foxtel since the days of Galaxy and have been praying for this day to arrive. Currently pay about $170/month for foxtel but would be more than happy to pay double so i can see Essendon every week

Agreed.
Thankfully the mother in law has got Austar now.
I've nearly seen more Brisbane games live this year than I did all of last year.

From that come a couple of personal points

It is an improvement / good news that
- no more blackspot games that miss live or near live coverage (ie Like Sydney v Geelong recently)
- Friday night games not so delayed (20 mins far better than 90)
- If you have Foxtel you have everything live
- Crows & Power fans still have every game on free to air
- 24 hour AFL channel on Foxtel is back

Concerns
- All AAMI Stadium games will be on live on Foxtel and many near live of free to air .. crowd impact ???
- Now three of nine games (33%) on a Saturday Aternoon or twilight conflicting with traditional SANFL time slot. How manyof these will be the AAMI Stadium game?
- Will Foxtel Cup be a one year wonder given twilight Saturday slot now an AFL match?

personally think it is good
all games covered meaning all teams will have the same bargaining chip when looking for sponsors
more money for the clubs in distribution from rights
dont have to listen to eddie broadcast with dermie
and with the new shows that foxtel have on footy you can bet they will do more and 9 and 10 will have to work twice as hard to get any market share
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

It most likely is, but given the resurrection of a dedicated footy channel, then it might live on in a different timeslot.

I can't believe the AFL got that much money. The clubs will be licking their lips. So will the AFLPA. I guess the AFL knew what they were doing after all by introducing 2 new teams into a big TV market.

p.s. Spare a thought for Ricky Nixon. He is the biggest loser out of all of this. ;)

This could be the start of the fall of AFL footy. :(

Both sa afl clubs are struggling.

Will sa afl be fixed up?

Will grass roots footy in all states be helped financially.?

Who is going to pay the next footy deal....

Where is this money going...

Will junior footy go as soccer is going?

Too expensive for everyone.

It's not about TV rights.

It's about can little johnny parents afford to send him to learn to play his favourite sport. ;)
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...
