How bad are they!!!

0-4 and with Port and Geelong (@ Kardinia Park) their staring 1-5 after 7 rounds of football

Also their not the youngest side getting around either and are in no mans land at the moment imho. Especially with the GWS taking all the best draft picks for the next couple of years.

Bottom 4 side for sure imho!!

For mine the most annoying team in the comp at the moment, by the end of last season I started to think they had a future with some good kids, but they have been spineless thus far, and are still too reliant on Boomer Harvey, who understandably can't dominate week-in and week out any more.

Swallow is quality and performs, Petrie is a decent player all be it inconsistent, but HArvey was right the other day when he fired the arrow at the kids, they are shirking the issue at important times .. You just knew they were going to drop today's game despite their early lead.

Lindsay Thomas needs to be dropped to try and get some consistency out of him and I would have lost patience with Daniel Wells by now.

Yep that was the worse about the Kangas today, After quarter time they were dominated by Richmond and there was that feeling of 'its only a matter of tiime' until Richmond hit the lead. Even the commentators were saying it.

Also North Melbourne had to work really hard for most of their goals and alot came from scrappy play while Richmond scored alot of goals through great lead up play.

I think they will be bringing up the bottom 4 with GC, PA and BL

Thats true, but IMHO they had every chance to beat the Eagles and probably should have .. Then win tonight is 2/4 from a toughly drawn start and they're pretty well placed.

Instead their season is over

True, but history says you wont legitimately challenge for the flag from 0/4, and in all likelihood the top 8 is gone.

I'm a little surprised - and this is by means not a criticism - that there wasn't more of an issue made by the Kangaroos of their draw, especially the 2 trips to Perth early on. I can imagine certain Presidents being very vocal on the issue if it was their club.

since the roos said no to thye afl over going to the goldcoast, they have been given bum draws and have been left that far below the level playing field it is not funny
its not the reason they ARE on the bottom at the moment because they are not good enough
imagine tho if their draw had been given to the dons, pies or blues
ah thats right, they cant be touched

AGREE, thats why the AFL fixture is mickey mouse and makes the AFL a joke when it comes to COMPETITONS,

they have been handed a unfair draw from the start. DO THEY DESERVE THAT?

Well if they decided to go up North do you reckon your McFootball 'club' would have ever been launched?

Well they are every chance to get a win on the board against Port. Wont beat the Cats at Kardinia Park. So there looking at a 1 - 5 start to the season as you have said. That pretty much indicates you should be planning for next year.
And also I agree with what you have said about the draft for the next couple of years, like Port (both teams seem to be in the same position on and off the field) they will struggle to rebuild during this period. I believe all is not lost, in my opinion salvation is there in the form of mature age players like Barlow, Hibberard, Duigan, Coad to a degree etc. Pick up a few of these guys and you list can improve without the top one or two picks.
Still the roos have some good young players on there list and also they have the makings of a good forward line.

It'd have to be Oompa Loompa's last season too....

They should be looking at relocating down to Tassie.....

Tassie actually have a Football heritage but the AFL have overlooked what is an actual AFL state because they believe the Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney are more important areas. I believe an expansion into tassie would have actually netted some decent crowds if they had their own team to follow. They normally get 10 - 15k for Hawks and Saints games down there. I believe they would get around 25 - 30k for their own team. Just my opinion of course. As for North Melbourne moving there, well thats not a bad option. I believe they would get a really good following down there.

I think that the AFL are well aware that a side will have no option but to move to Tassie in the future to survive, especially if the same thing happens as happened in English Soccer where more money was paid for tv rights, clubs boosted wages and operating budgets, then when the TV rights were re-negotiated on the next occasion it dropped back considerably and pushed several clubs into financial difficulties as a result. The same thing can and will happen with the AFL once it reaches saturation point which is not to far away.

This is likely why they wont give Tassie an AFL licence because if they do there is no option for a club to move there, so it either goes bankrupt or merges and at least with the Tassie option they can keep their colours and heritage as South Melbourne have done.

North have made it absolutely crystal clear that they would not move interstate, its difficult to see how they would be able to sell the move to members as a result, one would think that with the time it would take to get the members on board that a rival club, perhaps not even one that is located in Melbourne might take that opportunity in front of them.

One night over Brandy and Cigars......

Vlad: Bloody Tassie won't shut up.
Work Experience Kid: What about the Roos? What about the Roos?
Vlad: Bloody Roos. We have to put up with the Suns spudding it up because of those stubborn bastards!
KB: Perhaps we could change the rules.....
WEK: What about the Roos? What about the Roos?
Vlad: Bloody Ell you parrots! *DING* Eureka! Let's have a look at that draw. (shuffles papers on the desk and starts scribbling furiously)
WEK: Boss that's bloody brilliant. Two trips to Perth, a game against Collingwood that'll show em.
Vlad" *EVIL LAUGH* Mwoaaaa. Their 12 hundred fans will stop going and then we can send them off to Hobart. I can see the derby now Hawthorn vs. Hobart Roos, it will be bigger than the Hatfields vs. McCoys!
KB: Perhaps we could change the rules......
WEK: Hang on Boss. These blokes have pride and won't go without a fight.
Vlad: Hmm, let's have a look at that draw again...........

Still think they should have gone to Sydney. A new team in sydney is just going to be a failure and they will cop some 200pt floggings, cant see GWS being competitiive. Roos could have gone to Sydey and became GWS Roos and kept their colours, picked up heaps of draft picks, money and concessions and been realistic flag hopes within a couple of years. It worked at Brisbane and even Sydney eventually but if North dont do something they will be gone within 10 years.

They got offered money, but the plan put to them was full of holes. There was no way they were going to be able to sustain themselves on the Gold Coast. They had no option but to stay. What they do need is a TV package which allows them to be played FTA occasionally. At the moment unless you have Foxtel, you can't see North games.
