Don't get me wrong - Lance is going to be a superstar, no doubt. But is he really the best player on the current Hawthorn list?
He is beginning to show glimpses of his brilliance, and he would certainly be in the top 10 on their list - but wouldn't the likes of Hodge & Mitchell be considered more important to the side, for now at least? Thats IMO anyway.

I totally agree blink. Franklin will MAYBE be Hawthorn's best by the end of the year if he stays fit and continues improving. But there is no way he could be rated above the likes of Hodge just yet. There is no doubt he is probably the most IMPORTANT player to Hawthorns chances of making the 8 but he wouldn't be their best, not yet.

No spot for Zac Dawson?

And as a Hawks fan, I agree. Too many pepole are getting carried away with Buddy ATM, and he has a lot of hard work to do to gain star status. Having said that, a lot pf people jumped the gun with Judd, and HE turned out okay :)

I guess whenever you are evaluating the best from other clubs, you tend to rate what your own club needs and also by how much that player hurt your team the last time you played them. For mine, this was Franklin on both occasions. Looking back over my list you can see just how many forwards are in there.

As for Hawthorn's best, it would have been Crawford up until very recently.

regards,

REB
