Re: SAAFL Div C4 (2011)
If they pull out prior to the season and give enough time to redraw you'll have no byes at all, but you'll probably end up playing a couple of teams 4 times

Re: SAAFL Div C4 (2011)
Is there some chance Wingfield Royals could pull out?
Have they had a team in C grades recently?

Fitzroy
Winfield Royals.
Unley
Scotch
Pultney
Hectorville
Adelaide Uni
Elizabeth
Salisbury
At this stage 9-team comp.
Adel Uni dropped one game in C4 last year right? So why do they stay in C4 again? Give them the cup already!

I think you'll find this C4 Adelaide Uni team is actually the Scum who finished middle of the table in C6 last year

No they didnt, and they dropped more than one game, we beat them twice and they beat us twice during the year. If it is the same side they might do well though, they have been around the mark for the last three years, with only us and PAC causing them any grief, maybe its thier turn. From last year I would say that if Fitzroy and Salisbury keep on the way they were they are the two sides that may stand in thier way.

As i just mentioned this team you are referring to are now in the C2 comp. The Adelaide Uni team here is actually the lowest rank Uni team which was in the C6 comp last year finishing 5th for memory

Heard from someone wingfield have officially pulled out. Can anyone confirm?
Would an 8 team comp mean 4 byes each?

Hopefully 8 teams with no byes would be the smart thing, may upset some triple headers though

according to the amateur league eight team competitions are too hard to program because of oval clashes with higher grades...

Great!!! sounds like another year of only a 14 game season with 4 x byes which worked sooo well last year
Hopefully the SAAFL pull their finger out & find a solution as no one want to see a repeat of last years draw in C4

Re: SAAFL Div C4 (2011)
8 team comp with 4 byes sucked the big one last year! surely they can get each grade to agree that when they have a bye they will play the other team with the bye at that point, if it means that you play certain sides more than others then so be it, some sides will get a better draw than others. This should not change the double headers for sides so that keeps them happy.

We tried to get that going last year but unfortunatlety other clubs were not interested so the league knocked it back at the time & even asked your club to play a non-points game mid way through the year around the long weekend as we both had a bye (2weeks off each) around it but the powers to be couldnt make it work.
Hopefully we dont get the same senario as last years draw with a stop start season mate.

Agreed will be an ordinary div again if it is the case! Im pulling back this year and playing in the D grade, few more players my age there! We have a 9 side comp in C6 and having 2 byes in the year is great in that comp, our C grade are in C3 and have no byes, much better suited tio ours as we will have a young C grade side this year again.
Good luck with the season, if your late form from last year is anything to go by I would say you should be up there this year, you getting good numbers out?

Re: SAAFL Div C4 (2011)
Yeah Tex numbers are on the improve as think we have had about 85 train all up over the Pre-Season & with cricket finishing should gain another 6-12 so numbers should be fine for 3 sides just hope we can keep everyone interested in C Grade as we have the Bye in Rd 1. Wingfiled or Bye in Rd 2. Unley Rd 3. then break for Easter so that will be 1 game in the first 4 weeks if Wingfield pull out & the league leaving the draw...

Can anyone confirm this about Wingfield?
League still has them in the draw so it can't be official
