They weren't going to bust a gut for the 'privilege' of a trip to Melbourne next weekend.

WTF? You cant be serious? So thats why we cant hit targets and give the opposition half there goals? So whats the excuse for the last 3 years? Dont get me wrong i love the eagles even if they are bottom but you cant make excuses for a pathetic attempt to be competitive against half strength sides.. We have to many players that burn the ball, and untill something is done about it we will be looking at the bottom half of the ladder for a while, yes we have some good talent but its the ones without the talent that makes the whole side look ordinary. How is kennedy or lecras going to kick 60 goals when ebert priddis embley kick it to the oppositions chest?

These blokes train everyday and cant hit targets without pressure, its something ya got or not and these blokes fall in the not catergory imo. If something isnt working you do your best to fix it,so if they keep burning it ******* try your best to fix it... Priddis you go alright but dont kick it cause you cant, simple as that..

Scathing Catchit, just say what you really think!

Huge chance i will buying another tv 2 rounds in

What a load of horse5hit. If they were a better team they'd have played much better the end. If that's all it takes to deflate the Eagles there's not much air in the tyres to begin with.

i agree with REB.

so do u think that if they were a chance to make the Grand final in normal season they would say nah, coz they dont wanna fly to melb?

Jack Darling has been disciplined for arriving to training late. Chances of Round 1 debut unlikely?

2 from 2 decent start albeit against 2 pretty sub standard sides.

LeCras out for 8-10 weeks and now Waters out for up to 12 weeks with an elbow injury.

Embley has been in brilliant form and Cox is looking super fit at the moment, good to see Kerr back last weekend as well.

Not good news with Waters and the elbow injury again. Will be next captain IMO

I was pretty impressed with West Coast last week. Even though Port have been down for a little while now your lot still have had trouble beating them. Port had a real crack but West Coast always had the answers. Luke Shuey is going to be a player and Embley just keeps on keeping on. Darren Glass' absence last year has not been mentioned all that much but he was excellent against the Power.

It will be an interesting match against the Swannies at Subi this weekend that's for sure.

Yeah Cox has been good, Embley has seemed to turn back the clock a bit and well the loss of Waters and LeCras are really the only down side. I must admt at the moment I have enjoyed watching young Darling out there. Not a bad player, would make a good forward line when he has a bit more experiance and lining up with LeCras and Kennedy.
Shuey is gold, Gaff will be another one to watch as well.

Some good kids starting to really step up through the middle, like Chris Masten, Scott Selwood, and look for Koby Stevens to have an impact this year. Daniel Kerr the real wildcard for them. If the hamstrings don't hold up, he may bid farewell to the club by season end. If they do, could be a big bonus, but needs to shake a tag better.

Seem light on in attack with McKinley gone, but Kennedy the one to take his opportunity. Natanui may also spend a fair degree of time in attack also. Cox will need to drag a big season out of his battered body and try to return to his best form.

Fair way to go before its mid-season but an encouraging start for the Eagles so far. Cox has been superb this year so far, and Kerr really starting to run back into form.

For those that saw the game last night - how good was Natanui's opening centre break (until he kicked it).

The Eagles have been consistent this year because Worsfold has implemeted a game plan unlike some curious efforts of previous years. Essendon have done the same thing. In short both clubs have 'structured up' this season and any team whose coach does not have a clue (read Melbourne or Port) are going to struggle.

Structure up or die in the AFL.

Another win today and broke the Freo Hoodoo that has been annoying the shit out of me during the past 7 derbys. In the 8 after round 7 and the forward press has been super so far this year with our pressure first class. Are the Eagles going to be finals bound this year? Or just outside, whats everyones thoughts?

Big game this week against the Dogs.

do you know how bad emlbey and kerrs injuries are?
i was very suprised we won yesterday but more surprised after their injuries in warm up.
they have done a lot better than everyones expectations i think.

lynch is playing better footy, more consistant and darling is a gun pick up!

lets hope we can continue it for the rest of the season.

Kerr was a tweak in the groin apparently and should be ok for next week. Embley with a hamstring, maybe 3 but unsure yet about the length of time for him.

Eagles will finish around the 8. Always difficult to beat in west but cant see them winning enough on road to climb higher on ladder. Definately on the improve and have exceeded my expectations of them this year already

You know you are going well when your gameplan earns a name. We've had Clarko's Cluster, Pagan's Paddock, the 'press' and now we have the Eagle 'trap'. The Dockers were another side to fall into it yesterday.

Amazing win today by the Eagles, their biggest in their history - to see off the Bulldogs by 123 points like that must send some fair warning to the rest of the competition.

Shows what a strong performance today was, that Dean Cox had 23 touches, 33 hitouts, two goals and could still miss a Brownlow vote for the game.

Fantastic performance today, they need to back it up with a win interstate now. Big game against pies next week, think its at MCG and eagles dont get to play their too often so it will be a big test. Just winning their home games wont get them high enough on ladder so they need to nick a couple. They looked awesome today and geez they move the ball quickly, most improved side by a fair bit this season.

Eagles were bloody awesome today. The three tall forwards are causing major problems for all sides.

How good does there midfield look with a firing Cox, Embley, Kerr, but more importantly Mark Le Cras in there. He has the ability to be in the top 5 midfielders in the comp very quickly IMO.

They will certainly push the pies next week. Glass will be of huge importance to them next week, and the other tall defenders.

Swan looks in trouble for the Pies next week, and i feel there could be an upset next week. I really enjoy watching the Eagles play at the moment. Jeeze the Selwood boys can tackle!
