this drew lister character has been talked about at lofty for the last couple of years but as far as i know he isnt playing. $650 is a massive chunck of cash, too much i think, but if its for a FF id be happier to pay on performance base, and if he's as good as everyones thought then he'd be worth that much.

one more rumor. bumped into an ex birdwood player last night, who told me a mate of his ruckman now plays in the city, used to play for birdwood, not sure of his name, was offered $650 a game by mt.lofty. but turned it down to stay playing in the city. if it's true, that's ridiculous money.

can only report what i was told. but i do trust the guy that told me. and believe me there are players on $600 a game.... at least two i know of @ a country div club with a vverrrryy large cheque book.

Welcome JC. But I reckon you can safely disregard that info, regardless of what you may have been told. I know a bit about the $ input and output involved in keeping any HFL club together, especially a Country Div. one. Good luck to any committee who may have made such a ridiculous committment; they will implode/explode before the season is over. Why is this guy not playing SANFL?

i do agree with ya, that kind of money is just ridiculous and it seems impossible that any clubs country or central could survive paying it out. yet the rumors and stories seem to keep emerging! but maybe that's all they are!
