Do you think the new format for the pre season cup had a bit to do with the Gold Coast and GWS being involved.

If they had played full length match there would be a real possibility that these clubs could lose by 100 points which would never be good for new clubs looking to attract supporters.

By playing them against each other and a fairly defensive Sydney side in a game that goes for less than an hour there is no chance these sides are going to be belted.

Just a thought.
