PORT LINCOLN, SA 42.2 currently
About 4 minutes outside just now for a smoke, and I came back in dripping with sweat.

It is about 36 here in Werribee. With the temp that hot MP you should quit smoking.

It's alright with the A/C in my closed off lounge room, only 18 degrees in here, but when I go out... DAMN!

Yep its warm in sunny Ceduna today, I have seen 50 before, but I went outside before and it is real bad, early in December everyone was complaining it was still winter not summer but a heatwave was always going to come...

Apparently we've had a coolish summer.

Lucky Norwood don't play games in Oodnadatta otherwise JAS might be in for a bit of a shock.

You hate winter ?
You'll love our winter.
We complain if it gets anything close to 10 degrees.
Have you come close to experiencing a 24 degree minimum before ?

Yep I was stationed on Ascension Island (just south of the Equator) for a few months and that got quite warm at times and my last big holiday was in Jordan a few years back with temps around the mid 30's. I'm ok with heat as long as it's not too humid...that's the killer for me.
Hoping your temps during the first half of May will be around 20C which would be a good summer's day up here. So while you're all reaching for the thermals I'll be the eejit in a t-shirt...should make me easy to spot at the footy

Re: Soooooo, how's this weather?
It finally got to 28C inside my house after two hot days. So I turned the air conditioning on for a few hours.
The advantage of double brick construction and wide eaves was brought home to me when I dropped into a friend's brick-veneer place nearby, about 5.30pm.
It was still 36C inside, and the walls are supposed to be insulated.
It is true that double brick holds the heat longer once it heats up.
But up in the hills you at least get a cool breeze in the evenings and can open the windows to help cool it off.
However, the log cabin I lived in for some years was by far the easiest house I've had to maintain a comfortable temperature in.

Yeah that seems to be the case. My place is double brick (with roller shutters), and the last couple of days have been the first time I've had the aircon on longer than 30-45 minutes all summer! However, once the heat's in, it takes forever for it to get out.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Don't know what it's been like in the Riverland today but whatever they got is heading towards the Adelaide Hills now and it;s bucketing down.

I'd better nick out and do my shopping now before it gets here then...
It is still sunny in the Stirling area but rain and storms are predicted late.
PS: the wind rolled in at 4.49pm, and the rain is just beginning now at 5.02pm
PPS: A brief Thunderstorm hit at 5.544pm.

They just re-issued a warning and Renmark warning has been cancelled.
Nice how they issue the warning at 4.45, about an hour after it's already dumped a few litres.

Hope that 1/2 a mm of rain wasn't to disruptive.

Drove through 2 flooded roads to get to work, had to turn around for the next one though, too deep.
