Have already done that rumourmongrel....got about $200k in the bank, own our premises and got another 5 pokies to offload when the time is right....you are right, we are cashed up and ready to be dangerous...but we have also got something more tangible that money to attract new players...success and tradition...

If that is true BTB (which I'm sure it is) why do some people in your club seem so opposed to Tasmans having a go at getting themselves into a strong position both on the field and off it.

probably gets back to the old Tasmans / Waybacks rivalry. Seems to pass the test of time and to be fair can be a bit of fun ....I think you will find that we (WFC) have softened our stance over the past few months and have moved forward for the betterment of footy....we want footy at Ravendale and will support the project no worries....

Waybacks have 7 games at Ravendale this year according to the draft fixture. This would indicate they are fully supportive of Tasmans getting into a strong position 'off the field'. A 2-2 record against Tasmans last season would indicate Waybacks wouldn't be falling over themselves to help Tasmans get into a stronger position 'on the field'.

I would have to say Tassies are a fair way off from being strong on the field. They need to aim to make the finals regularly and then from there success will come. The success culture hasn't been there for at least 10 years!!
My personal experience is that the young guys who have played for 3 to 4 years are a cocky lot who need to be put in their place. The young Rangers & Demons are a long way ahead of the young cocks!!
Hey Eppie, would you agree with me regarding a few of the lads who think they are superstars when they get BOG against Bostons but against the top sides go missing..

Only a tiny bit eppie....I think we really did take stock of what was important to us recently and that was reflected in a change in attitude.

boags that was so eloquently put...being the self appointed MH medallist has really given you some cred.

I didn't see any Lincoln footy '96- 2002. IMHO at Waybacks from early 90's to now Peter Mckenzie, Tom George and older brother Andrew in no particular order. Closely followed by Dom, Minya & Josh Hollitt.

no rossco boags? Had sure hands and was hard to budge. Would have been the best utility going around in the early-mid 90s...,. could play either end.
Funny HS.... It must'nt be only footy that you matured late in.

Darren Rule & Mark Enright for us over the distance. For his two years at the club though, hard to go past D McPharlin, I'll put it on the line and say he was the best midfielder this comp has seen in the last 20 years, unstoppable!! (although J'OB did stop him one day)

Agree scooby - always thought we would struggle come finals 2005 although some in the club thought flag was ours in June. Still five players short of good side. Not too much on the recruiting front this year so far so I think we will still be a few players short of a good side. Early days yet though.
