I love women. My mother was a woman, my sister is a women and my ex-wife was a woman and my partner is a woman and a bloody good one.

"I have done 12 games over two years," she said.

I'm sure she did more than that. Seemed to always do Geelong games. :?

Can't say I heard her much as she always seemed to do Saturday matches and I'd usually be watching the SANFL on ABC and just flick for score updates.

She's obviously worked hard so I feel sorry for the lass and hope that she can go away and improve her calling skills (use of her voice mainly) .. I must admit I struggled with the sound of her voice and won't miss it.

Where's Tiffany Cherry these days?

As for Kelli Underwood.... a sensible decision by ten

She was shafted* also. I believe she took maternity leave and they cut her position up to several people and now no longer have a role for her either.....

I thought all 3 were average at best. The best Channel 7 had in that era was Ian Robertson with Peter McKenna for some special comments as well.

The thing I don't understand is if they must have a female commentator (and I'm not opposed to that), why not advertise the postition, hold some interviews and find one who is actually suited to calling football - i.e. good voice, knowledge of the game, the ability to understand the game is more important than self-promotion, etc.

They keep trying these bimbos and then wonder why it hasn't worked. I have a friend who would be perfect for the job, but she'd never get a chance because she doesn't know someone who knows the TV executives.

This isn't just about Kelli Underwood here, the overall standard of commentators, journalists, etc is downright flatulent for that very reason. If ever there was an industry which dishes out jobs to friends, relatives, etc, rather than select the best people for the job, it's the freaking media, and the public have to suffer. Case in point ... Sam Lane.

I didn't mind Kelli Underwood but I seem to be in the minority. If the majority don't like you in that field you are up against it* from the start.

AH, Underwood is far from a bimbo and does know footy.
She worked for 3AW commentating for many years before being given this chance to work on tv.
No one complained or complains about her voice/calling when she does radio calls, now with the ABC.
