I was surprised by the amount of animosity shown towards former Carlton President John Elliot when he was given the sack from the job, it appears that Elliot has had a say back!

From Real Footy, " - JOHN Elliott yesterday scorched Carlton president Graham Smorgon, saying his opinion of him was that he was "pathetic". - The former blues supremo claimed Smorgon "has no leadership qualities at all, is very poor with people, has no personality, has got no decision-making skills and doesn't lead the board". "The result of this is the Carlton brand has deteriorated markedly and the spirit of Carlton has disappeared," he said.

Several years later of sledging Elliot for all their problems, the club makes the greatest stuff up in their history and sells out their home ground advantage to move from Princes Park to the Docklands.

Carlton may once have been a widley supported club, yet the way back is long and hard and I think they will struggle for many more years yet. It is not out of the question that they could well go bankrupt as their financial postion is supposed to be worse than Fitzroys was in a time where costs are rising dramatically for the successfull footy clubs.

Richmond have a massive amount of members and they have been in the wilderness for years, Carlton may well be in for an era of the same.

latest report is that Stephen Kernahan will be the next president...WTF? when will Carlton learn. A president should be someone who knows how to run a business, not a popular ex footballer.
