Ablett aside port had a far better side. Ablett will need to kick 6 each week for them to get close.
Maybe we should run a tipping comp for how many gc will win in 2011. I think they will do well to win 2

I'm running with 0.

And I hope like hell that it happens... 8)

I now support Geelong, and any team playing the Gold Coast Abletts.

Yeah that's what I reckon as well. They won't go as badly as some people suggest.

i'm thinkin about Richmond from this year... lost first 8 or 9 IIRC, everyone said they wouldn't win a game and they ended up with 5 wins from the next 6 games...

Rckon they'll surprise a few and finish between 9-13th and win at least 6, at most 10

I will be there no matter where their first game is played.

We will win between 6-8. Ablett to win a couple of games on his own.

Even the worst of the worst teams over recent years have managed to scrape together 4 wins during the year, so wouldn't expect GC to be any worse then that. Think you would have to go back to when freo only won one game in about 2000??? to see anything worse. The young ones will get some confidence up and with a decent defensive six, think they could expect 6-8 wins during the year.

SUPERSTAR Gary Ablett is the Gold Coast Suns first captain.

Ablett was named today as the club's inaugural skipper and will be supported by vice-captain Nathan Bock and deputy vice-captain Campbell Brown.

Former Brisane Lions player Michael Rischitelli is also part of the leadership group.

Ablett and the leadership group were selected by players by a closed vote during a pre-season training camp at Mooloolaba last month.

Every player wants the respect of his peers, and to be chosen as captain by the players makes the honour of leading the side incredibly special," Ablett said.

That felt a bit wierd copying and pasting all that. How does Big Phil do it? ;)

And they will still be searching for their first win of the season (Gold Coast Ablett Football Club, that is) 8)

Only if they haven't played west coast, essendon or brisbane.

In my opinion they would role Brisbane. Took a couple of there better players just to make things a bit harder.
Still it will be hard going to the gold coast, they need something up forward to kick at. Sam Day will be a good player, but not this year.

Leadership stocks at Gold Coast must be real low if they're naming Nathan Bock as vice captain

No question that you have some good defenders, but Bock is injury prone and well Brennan is a bit hit and miss at times but of course is still a good player at times. Krakeour probably will get a gig but hes ok at best at the moment. Fraser is probably past it but will at least give you a contest in the ruck if nothing else.

The biggest problem is up forward. Just need something someone up there with a mature enough body to at least give you guys something to kick at. there is no question that your young guys will have some face and with a pretty decent starting set of on ballers, you will get plenty of ball up there, but still a key forward is the problem.
