Your Opinion - Worst AFL coach ever

When will supporters of the 14 non-adelaide teams in the AFL stop whinging and moaning about the favouritism and biased reporting the crows and power get.

Port don't get nearly as much media coverage here as the Crows do.

During the football season there is always more articles in the Advertiser/Sunday mail about the Crows than the Power, most are written by guys such as Chris McDermott who is the most one-eyed journalist in the whole country. When I go to watch the sports news on channel 7, 9 and 10 the first article is always about the Crows and it's always the longest article for the entire sports news, unless there's a big AFL story brewing eg. Ben Cousins.

To say that the Crows and Power have equal coverage is incorrect. The AFC have more money and a bigger supportor base than the PAFC, so it always has more coverage because more people want to know about the Crows than the Power.

I wasn't trying to say that port did get as much coverage and i am pretty sure i didn't. All i was saying is that i get sick and tired of people whinging about the adelaide based bias in the adelaide press. In terms of adelaide vs port coverage, there could be a valid argument into one team being favoured or getting more press then it deserves that would be far more credible. In relation to this topic, i am sure both coaches or adelaide based teams have had more then their fair share of scrutiny placed upon them over the years.

Be sure to compare it to the other coaches you mentioned and then report back to us

My guess is that most coaches would be around 50-50 in close games (maybe ranging from 45-55 to 55-45). When there's a scramble in the last 5 minutes of a close game luck comes into it meaning that most teams would win as many as they lose unless they have a good run with those footy gods!

Anyway, once you have looked it all up you can let us know

did you watch adelaide play at all this year? and they record against top 4 sides this year in the seond half was one of the best out the bottom 8 sides

defeated stk by 28 points
defeated geel by 11 points
lost to collingwood by 3 points
lost to bulldogs by 8 points

your side geelong could not even get within 2 goals of collingwood in round 19 and the premilinary final and you are the better team, we should have beaten them by about 3 goals at G in round 21, neil craig must be doing something right.

That's like saying the Nick Davis goal blitz in the last quarter v Sydney in Sydney in that final was all Bomber Thompson's fault. It's just footy sometimes that things roll the right way at the right time for a team. Blightly likes to talk about the footy gods. He's a good example. At Geelong he couldn't win a flag at 3 attempts so you could assume there's some coaching flaw on GF day. Comes to Adelaide and he goes back to back first up.

Teams come back from deficits all the time. You can point to Massis v Franklin yet to 3 quarter time Massie had done a good job it was only the last quarter where Buddy got away from us however Buddy gets away from a lot of players and if Scott Thompson doesn't kick out on the full then Buddy doesn't even have that shot for goal.

My main point is pinning a game result solely on the coach. Yes, he is part of the equation but there's 22 players on the field who need to get the job done as well.

I am sure Geelong could have won 2 flags in 2007-2009 under more coaches than just Bomber Thompson. With that playing list even NC would have had 2 flags by now!

I agree it's not solely the coach but you've worked mighty hard to provide excuses for Craig today. And how would Craig get us to two flags when we had to get by Collingwood twice ha ha.

If you watched the game closely, no defender could have done anything to stop buddy getting his hands on the footy. Majority came from leads and quality delivery and Massie was our quickest defender in that game .

In todays game defenders are only as good as the midfield pressure and delivery allows them to be. On this occassion no other defender could have done any better.

I know the style of SAFooty is to let threads go on forever except in exceptional circumstances but I reckon this is a classic example of a thread that just needs a bullet - ie, locked down.
