possibly 2 or 3 could give it a decent crack but there's never any guarantee is there.
Isn't Parish at Walkies sprint? Could he be the one trying to get some mates across?
I heard he was heading back to BOS...?
yeah he was at walkerville this year. would be good to have him back in 2011, was a big loss for us this year. don't think he'd be handing out numbers.

i've heard someone is handing out blackfriars players phone numbers to walkerville and they haven't hesitated using them. poor form.
Who'd be doing that??
i've got a couple of very strong suspicions but it'd be unlikely to ever know exactly who it is. there's been 5 that i know of and i'm out of the loop now. sh!ts me to no end when this happens after lots of hard work to get a club going. also makes me laugh when you go to delegates meetings and have to listen to the endless bullsh!t about how tough it is to run a club, and it comes from the clubs that are trying to flog your players.
i'm confident our lads will stick together.
Thats an interesting point STS. When Balckfriars started Walkies lost players to them and now youre crying foul that they you may lose players back to Walkies. Teams "flog" players from other clubs all the time, its part and parcel of footy these days.
And it is difficult to run a club (on the field) when a huge % of the juniors at the club go back to play Old Collegian footy for teams like PAOC, SPOC and Blackfriars.

here are some facts for you - 7 clearances in 5 years, 4 of them have not played an A grade game, 2 have since moved on, one back to walkerville and one to goody saints and 3 of the 7 were not playing senior footy with you when they joined us they just decided to start playing again because we had got a club toghether. not exactly a significant impact on your club i wouldn't have thought.
i've got nothing against clubs asking players to move and players moving. it's the way this is being done and the fact that i'm very confident it is an 'insider' of sorts involved in the discussions.

Fire up sprint! Nice work.
An insider job, hmmm. I hope you're not referring to players or officials in your club handing out numbers to opposition teams beacuse that would be a reason to get pretty fired up. But if its a case of a former player trying to entice an old team mate to their new club i cant see that being out of the ordinary. Happens all the time
The impact that i was referring to was that juniors that play for Walkerville tend to play for their schools old collegian team. It affects are recruiting when they (understandably) play with the guys they went to school with. Hard to get a foot in the door with most of those kids to get them to play senior footy for the cats. But its part and parcel with how things go and we are trying to rectify this by creating a better connection between the junior and senoir footy at the club.

we'll see what comes of it all. if i find out i won't hesitate offering my opinions on the matter. i got a bit fired up when i heard but life will go on. there is no doubt that when junior footy is finished some lads will feel the pull towards their OS club, you've just got to give them a compelling enough reason not to leave. bringing junior and senior closer together cant hurt.

Gee Suri, you will have the other junior clubs crying soon, perhaps if you didn't recruit directly from the colleges that might not happen. I know in one age group some time ago, Monfries, Lower, Lower, McIntyre, Holbrook - not sure any of them actually lived closest to Walkerville. Also if you could run a U16's and U18's like other clubs have to do to keep players, someone might have sympathy for you, but I can guarentee it won't be me, or anyone else that follows the juniors through the area.
Anyone heard from the Uni boys (Blacks...), rumour circulating that a certain pair of brothers wont be enjoying the after match jugs of beer at your pub.

The colleges are one area that we try and recruit players from, but by no means is it the only place we look for players.
And i cant comment on how the junior footy is run as they have their own committee and way of running the junior grades. Also not looking for any sympathy BF.
anyone from Flinders park confirm that you've signed two blokes from CLG for next year? have heard some rumours just wanted to see if its got any substance?

In Walkerville's defence, a lot of the families live in the Walkerville / St Peters / College Park area and its a good reason for the fathers to get together to discuss their hangovers

banned again are they?
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much
Anyone heard about Old Iggies recruitment for next year? I know they have spoken to a couple of players both current and former SANFL players............
Jimmy, I would doubt it, if anything he would go back home (Bordertown, I think), to Freeling (where his brother is) or to SHOC (where he went to school).
Apparently Calabrese is def back which at 29 will beg the question whether or not his body will be able to sustain the demands of A2 footy after having 2 and bit years away. I believe that Pedler is trying to lure his two brothers to the club......

have heard this. Would have thought shocs would be all over him thou.
Have heard former rostrevor, sturt and hahndorf player james Gallagher (phills actuall son) is linked to old iggies as well
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Seems a lot of players being linked to Iggies lately, have they opened up the cheque book because these players wouldn't come cheap. I believe Gallagher has under performed for Hahndorf the last few years but has got some talent.
