Wont somebody think of the Points Alot of clubs that have done some recruiting may need to have a re think!
FS, do you know something about this APPS we don't? Or can't you say?
Why worry about points when the clubs rejected the idea last year and will only trial it for 3 years. Thats my understanding of it and although we all have to meet in november with the CFB, there would not be a club other than a handful (10 maybe) who would seriously even think of adopting it surely. Wont even get through so would not be worrying about points to much
Don't go putting too much of your hard earned on that, I reckon with what I'm hearing either it will or blood will be spilt. The word is the numbers are already there according to the Chinese whispers.

Spill the blood then as there are a whole heep of clubs ours included who wont vote for it. If you are in D4 or D5 or D6 you are basically stuffed under this system. OK for some D1 clubs but not us lower ones who cant recruit anyone by the sounds if this comes in, unless they cant play. More bullshit for lower clubs to put up with

But on the other hand mate it will be harder for clubs to poach your homegrown talent
Supercoach Spring Racing Champion 2019 Spargo's Good Friday Cup Champion 2020
might stop players with over-inflated opinions of their ability selling themselves to clubs just so they can "play with their mates" and will make clubs start to think how to spend money [ which is very hard earned ] and not just throw it around

Great for you clubs in D1 now agreed, but not much chop for us in the lower grades. You have to spend a few bucks just to get ahead and try to get that really good player to your club. Lets face it we all do it. Think that is will be a huge disadvantage to all clubs not already set up. As a youngish Club in a lower grade, you are essentially stuffed from progression or at least put 5-10 years behind those already in D1. Perhaps thats what a few of the higher clubs and the League executive actually want. Personally I think the lower clubs will suffer badly from any such poor decision by the CFB, who obviously have a big agenda to make it work for them and this decision will be made for them and not anyone else. Another case of big brother telling us what we will be doing i fear unless clubs have the guts to tell them again to shove it where the sun dont shine, as we will

Moz, you're kidding yourself there with the 'opinions' bit! The day that practice stops the sun will rise in the West & set in the East and the government will stop collecting taxes too!

actually it hampers div 1/2/3 clubs, some have poor B grades and rely heavily on recruits to stay at the grade. The points system will make it easier for lower clubs to keep their home grown talent and make the comps much more even. Remember each club would have the same points to fit recruits in they will just have to be careful of how you use those points.

The higher clubs could recruit and play the bloke in the B grade which wouldnt effect the points, then next season he would drop in points and probs have himself a medal or 2.

If the blokes any good he won't be happy hanging around playing B grade for no money for a year and I doubt to many clubs are financial enough to pay B graders.

I wouldnt and either would the majority of players, But Im sure there are some spineless money hungry blokes that would do something like that. Wouldnt be for free Im sure though. I think there would be a few clubs in the higher grades that could afford to do that!
If anything, clubs like Golden Grove must be salivating over it, whilst any club without a junior setup will be disadvantaged. However, in saying that, it doesn't stop those clubs setting up a good junior recruiting network and pinching other clubs' juniors once they look for a senior club. The junior would be zero points for any club.
The SAAFL are proposing a limit of 1 point for transfers within our league - you could go and sign Henley's best 15 players for your 15 points. One problem with the system - the Fev could play with you for 5 points in 2011 and reduce to 4 points in 2012, but he's only 1 point for any other SAAFL club if they pinched him
As for Nelson and Weatherald
Nelson to Scotch - I'm not sure how he ever got linked to us - he's a Scotch OC Weatherald to coach PAC 1st 18 as the current coach; Gary Jenkinson is overseas in 2011

Coach of the PAC 1st 18 is a pretty full on job these days. They start pre-season in February/March and I dont think D2 is conducive to guest appearances.
I actually doubt that Roo will play next year which will free up a point for us - we can go after Floyd............
