Because the only thing more embarrassing than Blake is Simpson and West.

Bit harsh. While it is getting harder and harder to make a case for Blake as the years go by I thought West and Simpson both showed something when they were given the opportunities. West showed he could haul down a contested mark against North at Cat park and Simpson didn't look out of place at Subiaco against Lurch no less.

Simpson is very raw and West is not that far off it. I was wondering if we might go for Hale especially as that big sook Blake is after a trade.

So hale for blake as a swap would suit you well there REB?

After being a top 10 pick in the 2001 "Super Draft" (Hodge, Ball, Judd, Bartel, Montagna, Johnson, Brown, Mitchell, Swan) I think he is still living off the back of that.

You guys have McIntosh and Goldstein and perhaps Petrie if you didn't break him for good last season. Hale is a ruckman so this is why he was going to be delisted. Hawthorn have Taylor and Renouf LOL. Melbourne have Jamar who went OK last year but the back up is Johnson who is ordinary. This is what trade week is all about but yeah a good result for the Roos for sure.

Agree and I think Goldy's quick progression in the last 12 months has shocked everyone, the club would have thought he was still 2 years off what he has produced this season.

Yeah it would. But I reckon with Melbourne and Hawks fighting over Hale that the Roos are laughing and why would they want another ruckman? Not sure what the Roos need, they look pretty balanced so it might just be draft picks. I reckon the Roos look a lot better whenever they don't go in so tall.

Yep Goldy's a good one for sure. Some exciting times coming up for the Rooboys in the next couple of seasons I reckon. You could be passing us as we go down and you go up.

Can only laugh at the posts suggesting Dangerfield will not be a gamebreaker etc etc in the AFL. This KID will be an elite player in the AFL sooner rather than later.

Geelongs Nathan Djerrkura has been traded to the dogs for a 3rd round pick. Good luck to the lad, almost anybody would have struggled to get into that midfield

David Hale to Hawthorn. I rate Hale and believed Port should have had a go for him, would have been a good 2nd ruckman/forward to help Brogan out while the young boys get better. Oh well.

Until he is an elite player then I look at it with a lot of scepticism. Until then he is just a kid with some potential who has, incidentally, been overtaken by players taken in the same and later drafts imo.
Crow supporters will look at him differently as they want to believe he'll be their next gun.

He has proven he can be a gamebreaker, some of his performances up forward have got us wins. In saying that he still has plenty to work on.

Dangerfield has ticker, but he doesn't deserve the doe-eyed admiration that a lot of Crows fans already give him.

He's had several individual acts of brilliance that have got me very excited. However at the moment he goes to ground too much in a contested footy situation, is only fair in his decision making, and overestimates his ability to break tackles as well.

His development this season really wasn't as great as I'd hoped either, but he wasn't alone there. IMO at this stage he's just a handy forward flanker who needs a fair dinkum focussed pre-season to take the next step.

Nobody is doubting dangerfields ability, on his day the kid is brilliant, but until he produces game breaking performances week in week out onlookers will continue to be sceptical. Im convinced he will be a star but its waiting (like all crows fans) for it to happen. In the power camp same can be said for robbie gray, when this kid gets his body right he will be a gun!....power fans likewise with crows fans are playing the waiting game

Dangerfield will be recognised as a much better player when he can sustain his efforts over a four quarter game. Yeah I agree he seems to have an ability to do some fantastic stuff, but the good players of the league can do this quarter after quarter and spread their impact over a much longer period of the game than what Patty is doing currently. Once he gets that consistency then he can be talked about in the upper echelon of the AFL's players
