It's not the interchanges that ruin the spectacle, it's what these rotations allow the coaches to do with the players.

Do you notice how many players are within a 20m radius of every stoppage? How many times does it seem every player on the field bar 2 are on one side of the field?

How do you think the players are able to run that far?

Rotations.

The counter argument was : coaches will expect the same, causing greater soft tissue injuries, thereby shortening careers.

Jury is out for mine.

How about the ALF introduces sweat bands to determinte where players are allowed to run like when I played Under 13s for Kenmore Bears. Forwards wear Red, Midfielders wear Blue and Backmen wear Yellow.

The AFL can't go a year without changing something. Lucky we still have the SANFL to watch the hard stuff. How about Callinan's bump on Sunday!! Woof!!!!!

That's a good point. I have thought about that too.

If the coaches keep pushing it I'd increase the number of injury interchange players to 2.

We don't want 32 players following the ball up and down the field. It's not basketball.

The coach that tries to get the same rotations out of 21 players may end up with a higher injury list and so will pay the price that way. That could be the natural way of stopping it.

What will happen now is teams will play tempo, time wasting tactics throughout the quarter while they get there best players a 5-10 minute, the game will be more frustrating than ever.

I'm not sure you can always control the game that much that easily just so your stars get a 5 minute breather while you next tier players play keepings off.

Something tells me the opposition coach would use that time to get his own guns on field and score 5 goals!

Or are you saying both coaches are going to pre-agree times where the game basically stops so everyone can rest up?

The AFL is a joke I will still support the cats but I will not be watching them as often as I used to. There are too many rule changes and concessions that are un-needed being given out.

All im saying is it just takes team A to win the ball and then hit a target, with players being as skilled as they are all they need is a player to find 5-10 meters pf space to hit a target.

Teams will also do the ultra flood and huge numbers around the ball to bottle the game up to they require.
