Ling v Ablett?

BWAHAHAHAHAHA - Ling will be struggling to catch a cold by mid-2011 let alone keep up with the best player in the competition. ;)

Leave Patrick Dangerfield out of this.

WGAF about Geelong now anyway, they GONZO.

Bunch of flat track bullies, couldn't do what the Crows did with an average side and double up.

The only person people should be angry at is G Ablett because HE chose to go, HE chose to initiate talks with GC, HE chose to sign, HE chose to hide it all year when he knew from the very start he wanted to go.

Wow, I haven't checked this thread for a couple of days, and it's gone off! I can certainly understand Cats' fans frustrations, I couldn't imagine if Hirdy had upped and left in 97. As REB says, fans are loyal, and nothing will change that. It's interesting that the AFL seems determined to undermine this by introducing rules to reduce loyalty between clubs and players. By enforcing the salary cap, introducing free agency to encourage players to move clubs etc, it's entirely possible that some fans will become disullisioned with the game when they see their favourite player(s) at their club move on. And it's the club fans who make the game what it is, and in the main pay for it.

It's easy being a Crows supporter... You don't have any talented football players to lose to the GC...

I think you might find that it's the players are pushing for free agency,

Well why ******* post then?

REB

Gee anyone would think we are in the Div 5 thread biting each others head off! Just posting my opinion as everyone else has, and my opinion is that all this talk is boring the sh!t out of me...

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of what has happened, accept that and everyone move on.

PS i hope Ablett has an injury plagued season next year...

Like I said, why post then if it's a boring topic for you? BTW, I would never wish an injury to any player at any level of football.

regards,

REB

But you would throw 20c coins at him as you mentioned earlier in the thread? That wouldn't possibly injure him  . Suck it up REB. You've been spinning shite about Carlton for years. Now it's your time in the SUN

For a thread about the Gold Coast, seems that we talk about other clubs and other players a hell of a lot...

And with the 7 different threads started re GAJ in the last week, I'm sure there's somewhere more appropriate to talk about him... 8)

FWIW, Unlike REBtastic, I certainly DO wish that he tears a hammy/snaps a leg or something in the GC's first game... ;)

Why should you blame the Suns for wanting to do the best they can to be as competitive as they can as quickly as they can?

If I want to be shitty at the Suns, I will be. I don't need you or anyone to tell me any different as to how I should think. I'm not at ******* kindergarten.

Can't argue with that. I only just came back on here this morning and yeah people are going off, and you know what there's no problem with that. The Gold Coast took there best player by simply throwing there enourmous cash weight around. Which I would actually argue if Bock is there for 750K, Ablett allegdelly 1.95Mill, Rischitelli, Brown, Krackouer and Harborow, I would ask whats left in the bank. I know they have about 1 Mill more but, Ablett alone eats up moer than that.

Is being an AFL footballer a job or playing sport ?

From a spectators pont of view its still a sport

The Bookies call AFL footy, Sports betting not Job betting

MOOTED VIEW
Instead of calling Gazza money hungry, disloyal, traitor etc
OR
Calling Gazza smart, setting himself up for life financially etc
How about we partially blame the AFL system for allowing this to happen ???
The salary CRAPP has partially turned footy from a predominantly loyal sport to a mini meat market where players are delisted or sacked to fit within the CRAPP
The system in place affects the very best to the lower echelon abilitied players

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Dunno what the end gain is after taxation
But I will take a stab[could be way of the mark] when he retires
If he stayed at GE and ends up with 3 million in the bank
OR
He ends up with 5 million in the bank playing at GC
Would he not have enough $$$$ to live on whether its 3 or 5 million ?
Does it then become a greed factor playing for GC ?

So it's not supposed to go both ways. Risch and Brown left were disloyal to there clubs after there clubs were disloyal to them.

This is now the new environment. Get use to it. When Free agency comes in this will be the norm.

See, my comment started with "Why should you......" clearly that is a question, not a directive telling you how you should think or feel. Pretty certain it was a question. If you just want to grizzle and not answer the question, fine, who am I to tell you what to do.

It's not a tumor.... ;)

Not the brightest are you. As if I would contribute to the Suns by attending on of their matches. And I've never thrown anything at a player of any sport in all of my 44 years and I'm not about to start now. I've been spinning shite about Carlton for years? Find me something older than 12 months, seriously, the Blues just aint that important.

We may be Gonzo as you say but we won back to back premierships back in the 50's, and we didn't need a bull5hit finals system to do it either. You wouldn't know this as your average Cow fan thinks football was invented in 1991.

BWAHAHAHA. Stick to the SANFL mate. Gazza Snr played a mere six games for the Hawks but couldn't hanlde the discipline out at Glenferrie. As good as Gazza was I don't reckon too many Hawkers would have had Gary Ablett dufflecoats on the strength of six matches. Comedy GOLD.
