I felt that a number of the younger Collingwood players were awestruck by the occasion and continually made elementary skill and decision-making errors.

I think they will be better for the experience and I'm hoping they will have more composure in the replay.

In 1948 Melbourne won by 39 and in '77 North Melb won by 27.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Now that they've played a GF, I reckon the Pies will be better off for the experience.
I'm picking Collingwood, but would love to the Saints get up in another classic.

I reckon Goddard should be suspended for that knee to the Colingwood player's head when he was on the ground. One game suspension should be enough

Everyone knows the rules in regards to drawn grand finals and I hope there's no knee jerk reaction to his idiotic comment at the end of the game.

Probably being a bit harsh on him, was interviewed a minute after one of the toughest games we've ever seen.

"I dont think I've ever seen 44 guys go to war like we did just then, that was amazing and it's probably going to take this for the AFL to change the rules, it's an absolute joke, there's no way it should be decided after another game, guys come here for a win or loss and thats what we should be leaving with. We'll look forward to next week and use the hurt we're feeling now let it go and come back next week" (when asked what he's going to say to the players) "I've got no idea.. I'm spent".

Goddard definitely spoke better but he had a couple more minutes to slow the heart rate down a bit and think.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Collingwood's grand-final experience as a club is woeful, with 41 grand finals for 15 wins, 2 draws, and 24 losses (figures may be slightly askew, but I'm sure you've seen them before, or spelly has them somewhere). The Wobbles will strike and strike hard.

But then there's this article today through AAP at http://au.sports.yahoo.com/afl/news/art ... week-ahead ... Gardiner is out, probably for good; Dal and Gram are sailing close to the wind; and St Kilda has the dubious record of 7 grand finals, 1 win, 1 draw. I voted St Kilda in this poll coz I can't bring myself to vote for the Filth. Collingwood could / should have won yesterday but let it get away. No second prizes in this game
But yes, it was a pretty pointless comment wasn't it?!

Yeah, because we all know that the players are thinking about their club's history during the game

 My comment was supposed to show my reasoning for the decision ... the guys on the field only want to win for themselves and the club: those who were there last year more-so because they don't really want to be in the same boat again
But yes, it was a pretty pointless comment wasn't it?!

I was spent after the game, I'd hate to think what it was like for the players.

when the final siren went yesterday, after about a minute or so of just sitting there in utter dis-belief, i got up and walked outside, and vomited. wasn't feeling sick, and wasn't overly drunk at that stage. it just made me feel yucky. a very weird sensation.

I was at a pub across the road from the G, immediately after the final siren, I ordered a Tequila Slammer, with a Chivas Regal chaser....

I think it took me about two hours before I came out of the fuzz that result produced.
I was so stunned.
I spent all day in the garden today in the Valley of the Weeds and it was alllllll I could think about.
Damn game.

BIG weekend ahead.
It is too much to believe that I'll come out of it with two wins.
I may get one and I don't think it will be the Pies.

I think they've got you covered with 13 WINS in GF's compared to 4 for you. I'm not sure that you beating them twice compares. You love to make yourself look silly
