2. If Cousins' doco can help others I'm all for it.
3. Just because I don't find Cousins interesting enough to watch his doco doesn't mean I'm closed minded about the issues involved.

Flyer, I find your comments about my mind and what do I know comments to be highly offensive.

really REB? whats good for the goose. and all of that .....
just making a point like you like to do on a daily basis.
seriously though, maybe im making my point at your expense. :)

Sledging a person's team is not the same as sledging the person. That's playing the man. All good Flyer. Play on.

REB and Psyber (know-all's) watch it, you may learn something.

Each to his own. Even people who know nothing should know that. Ben Cousins is the most overexposed person in football today and I find him shallow and very dull.

regards,

REB

maybe the doco will give you a better insight to the real ben cousins, not whats splashed around in the media.. Your generation have lost touch with reality.. judge him after you watch. REB do you know anything about addiction?

FFS Your generation. Give me a break. Excuse me if I don't happen to think that Ben Cousins should be sitting cross legged atop the mountain in classic guru pose. He is a footballer. Does he have some hidden talent that will astonish all with this documentary? I sincerely doubt it. If you want to watch the doco go ahead but I don't wish to watch it as is my choice and I won't be splashing around trite generalisations about your generation or my generation or even worse offer up bullshit like 'do you know anything about addiction'. Well as a matter of fact I do but I don't feel the need to discuss here just to justify myself to you.

FFS.

REB

I dont think it was gen Y that invented drug addiction.

It was the blasted baby boomers who can be found at the root of all the worlds problems :p
It's all the SANFL's fault.

And this is the hardest part to understand in the whole story. Everyone who was close to Ben at the time knew of his drug addiction yet thought it was a good idea to send him off to Los Angeles to party. They knew he wasn't going to any drug rehabilitation clinic. I ask you, are they the actions of people who were as concerned for Ben's welfare as they claim?

I'm watching this doco simply to have one question asked, and that is how it is possible for a constant user of coccaine, an addict, manage to escape a positive reading in the AFL's illicit drug testing? What I saw tonight has raised a number of other questions in my mind. Maybe they will all be answered tomorrow evening.

I think we're only just up to the part that he actually admits and realises that 'yes he does have a problem'

I think tomorrow night is going to go deeper into what drug use like this does to the people around you.

Now don't anyone 'shoot me' ... lol...trying hard not to 'judge' but I still found him to be a tad 'arrogant' in his speaking tonight - left me wondering if he still 'get's it or not' ... but... look forward to tomorrow night to see what that brings.

Breaks your heart as a parent though - putting yourself in his families shoes.
They probably were 'enabling' him without realising it.
And as they say - once a drug addict to this extent it becomes a 'disease'

I do however hope that he is cured/well/recovered or whatever they call it.
You get what you give....

Did nothing but reinforce what a complete waste of space this fella is.

He has absolutely no remorse and considers himself a victim.

The real victims are his family and friends. FFS, his poor father has had to put up with his selfish antics for years.

The things I can't explain are:

1. How the huck did he evade the AFL drug testers for all these years?
2. How come he got away with shaving down and effectively not submitting himself for a hair test when he was returning from his AFL ban?
3. How did West Coast turn a blind eye for so long?
4. How tainted is the West Coast 2006 premiership win?
5. How piss weak is the AFL?
6. Why does anyone even care about him after all he has done?

Laurence Angwin stuffs up a couple of times and quite rightly is shown the door at 2 clubs, but no, if your name is Ben Cousins as long as you play great footy we will absolve you of all your sins.

FFS, give me a break. :-q

This was my thoughts as well. I take my hat off to him though, for being a big enough person to openly talk about his addiction.

Whats got me beat about all this stuff is:-

1. Where did he get the stuff from in the first place?

2. Why have not these pushers been brought to justice?

When the Law enforcers get these two problems right, then maybe I'll have a bit of pity on the users.

As you may have guessed i didn't watch it to night or will be watching tomorrow night.
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting
