It was a Monday night in La Spezia, but my partner and I had caught up with a couple of her friends for a few days who were also travelling through Italy and we were determined to down a few drinks. We found an upstairs bar and when we were the only people left there, Guiseppe the barman kept making us free drinks, albeit to impress the ladies with his barman tricks. It ended up being a late and boozy night and the next day we had an early start to walk Cinque Terre. Thank god it was cool and windy that day!

That's so cool!
I recall a few Italian bars I went to, they loved the tricks. They were always generous with their pours too - none of this measured bullcrap!

Question is, did Guiseppe's games get him laid?

Guiseppe got nothing, while I reaped the benefits of hanging out in an Italian bar with three birds

Wli Falls in Ghana's Volta Region. Standing under them was akin to getting a brutal massage.

How clean was the water Quichey?
Were you worried about swallowing any or getting it in your eyes?

Pretty clean and bilharzia-free (or so I was told  ). The water flows fairly rapidly out of the pool and downstream.

  Hope so!

Flowing water can still cary lots of parasitic bugs, but is obviously less risky.

Back in Ghana now, at Cape Coast Castle - the famous slave trading fort that sent so many Africans to their death.

Here's a close up of that last pic. Hundreds of kids gather outside 'the door of no return' every Sunday after church and play on the beach for the day - couldn't be any more antithetic to scenes of the past.
