yes, but can he wield the willow with the aplomb shown by the wily JR. Seriously JR was probably one of a very small number that could hold his head high judged on last years performances. don't know stats but i reckon his strike rate would have been up there with nd spinner, just that nd spinner bowled 1,000 overs for the year and JR was too busy sucking up 2 the umpires 2 get talbot votes to bowl.

which nd spinner is that BF? sledging a new team mate?

there is only one nd spinner that bowled 200 plus overs 4 nd last year, think captain, hardly think he would be moving. assume williams i think is b grade spinner that is moving according 2 this forum, took 5 for against ttg last year at the home of cricket.

he does only live around the corner from ttg that bloke. captain last year was cosgrove. tim cronin is the spinner joining you blokes, top fella and good cricketer loves training banter with blokes with big hair and your bar will notice an increase in vodka cruiser sales on function nights, very sad to see him go but he wants an extended chance to play A grade and all the best to the walrus in achieving that, will always be welcome back at Jet Park.

just because u live around corner doesnt mean u r any chance of going to a club. that bloke captained all games against ttg last year (4 games). not sure where cronin will fit in, as i said in last thread jr was one of a small few that would get a pass for his season last year. cronin is genuine chance of being good a grade player, just cant see where he actually fits into ttg system. jr would start a gr imo, they would have 2 play graeber in 2's plus probably pedler, cronin not good enough with bat to hold that end, what have i missed in all this, please tell me. ttg need batters, pure and simple, their bowling in a grade was their strength last year, from memory no one made 250 against them, no tons scored, pretty much same problem through the grades.

Thats it TS, you cant blame a bloke for wanting to play A grade similar to what has happened to TTG with Nic Bailey. I have no doubt Tim will fit in at TTG from the way you have described him above. In regards to JR, he is a very hard worker and as BF said he was one of few that could hold their head high from last season. As i havent seen Tim play i cant comment on him but anyone who brings A/B grade expereince to TTG with the young squad we have will be welcomed. It will be interesting with Josh Reader, Brad Pedler(B grade skipper from last year), Tim Cronin and young Caleb Greaber all top quailty spinners. Caleb is one to watch, bowls with great control and gives it a rip, he bowls well above his 17 years of Age and will get a shot in the B's this year for sure.

BF agreed, we need top order batters and i think we have a few young blokes that will develop this year and will benefit massively from our new training program.

It's a problem that any club with depth faces, there will always be blokes too impatient to wait their turn - up to the Jets to provide the club environment for these blokes to want to hang around. Can't help a few leaving along the journey though.

Its not so much impatients smac, sometimes you have to go and get your opportunity or you may end up in the middle/end of your career and never reached the level you thought you could or should have due to someone at the club being that little bit better or the coach preferring another player to you. Jets are a strong club and a few may follow if an opportunity doesnt present in the next few years.

The Club is turning over a new leaf currently

Cammo has been appointed Cricket Director and Assistant coach he has already set the wheels in motion to guide the club to where it needs to be.

A forum involving players, coaches, administrators and volunteers is being held next week to discuss all parts of the cricket club. Only positive results can come of this.

We have a good young squad and now possibly the best facilities in the comp with the re developed net area and club rooms. The wickets are improving and hopefully(yet doubtful) the footy club wont rip the ground up to much.

Para Hills C.C. Appoint Senior Coach
Para Hills Cricket Club is proud to announce its senior coach for season 2010/11 is former test cricketer Peter Sleep.
Peter who lives a stone throw from our oval has decided that while he is still senior coach of Tea Tree Gully District Cricket Club, that he can form an exciting link between both district and community cricket by coaching Para Hills on alternate nights to district cricket.

Para Hills as a community cricket club are very excited by his views and coaching philosophy and hence have changed our main training session to Wednesday nights this season. Para Hills Cricket club fields 5 Junior teams from U/11 to U/17 and also 4 Senior teams in the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association.

Maybe its not a breach , could it be he is coaching two clubs ????? if so how would it work? surely one club would get the raw end of the stick if this was true

Doubt that a coach could look after two clubs. After all everyone plays cricket on Saturdays.

Sorry Az, couldn't happen, not with one of them being a Grade Club.

I hear Sounda's commitments will be with TTG on Tuesday / Thursdays
& with Para Hills C.C on Wednesday nights.
So TTG r not training 3 nights a week as proposed by coach and assistant, interesting. I repeat won't happen and if it does TTG would have to terminate contract IMO.
TTG will be training 3 nights a week technically, Friday night is an optional night for mainly batsman who wish to have throwdowns and or use the ball machine. The new training structure is specific to skills and match situations hence the 3rd compulsary night will not be required.

Cricket coaches are over rated anyway. So, it's TTG Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Para Hills Wednesdays. By my calculations that leaves Monday nights free for Sounda to coach a hard wicket team!

Wont happen IO. As much as it would make a great story

Its a totally new system out at TTG, Sleepys role as 'head coach' has changed somewhat. The emphasis is on the players to improve their individual games through training and the program that will be run. Individual skills will have individual coaches, and sleepy will be overseeing these coaches and working with the spinners. Many of these coaching positions have been filled i believe and sleepy has great faith in their ability.

One thing that does concern me with the PH job, is that it was my understanding that Sounda would oversee the junior program to some extent. This would seem impossible with his now Wednesday commitments

Has the Cronin clearance been signed yet or are the Jets holding it back
to pull off a trade.

Why would we want to trade? all the lads are happy with the club and are keen to get stuck in to the training structure. I know they approached an A grade batsman who can bowl and wanted him to bat 3 at ND, but he wasnt interested.

My understanding is that the senior coach believes that "A" grade places are for those who are members of state squads.
Selection is not based on performance.
I am amazed that Tim Cronin is the only player to have currently signed with another club.

Bluey, not sure you on money there, didn't Francis play 2's last year despite being rookie at SACA and my info is that Borgas was one game away from the 2's out there. Certainly can't argue with their record though can you. I think if you asked any one around grade cricket which squad they would want, pretty sure nd would be in top two at the moment. Fair history of developing theirn juniors out there and unfortunately when you develop that many, some will seek opportunity elsewhere. Coach has very good record and well respected by players based on info i have.

Seems very messy already, wonder if this is with agreement of board. FS I really don't think this has a happy ending, last thing club needs.
